Tree taken down in October of 2009. All debris was hauled to front yard and disposed of. Two day project, 5 man crew on first day, 3 man crew on the second rainy day.

There are some people you work with that you will never forget, trust with your life, and have an unspoken bond for... John Trees, and Frank are just that for me. Treework, at certain moments has that special ability to put you in 'the here and now'... this is one of the reasons why I love what I do. Dug this one out of the vault, hope all enjoy.

There are some longer clips in there, so again... to fully appreciate make sure your buzzing plenty hard.

Please keep your PPE comments to yourself. Thank you!

Ummm, no. Many contributors to this forum want to improve the image of our industry. By posting videos with obvious PPE violations you're essentially saying that you don't care. There are so many injuries and deaths every year due to lack of compliance with the established regulations, it baffles me that someone would come on a professional forum and flaunt non-compliance. The regulations are there for everybody's protection and not complying hurts your peers in the industry and possibly yourself. You own your own business don't you? If one of your guys got hurt because you don't provide a safe workplace you could lose it all. Not only do you lose out, all of the other business owners do as well, in the form of ridiculously high workers comp premiums. The bottom line is this, PPE regs are in place for everyone's protection, workers, owners, home owners, and the industy at large. Do you want to be part of the future of Arboriculture or the past?

Honestly Ted, I posted that video for people to watch and enjoy. Those who can see past the lack of PPE might find certain parts of the video interesting, and they might appreciate watching something than nothing at all. This 'forum' attracts the best of the best in the tree care industry, and everyone has their own reasons for being a member.

I understand your concern and opinion for the 'need' for regulations. Obviously this is a dangerous profession, people will get hurt, they will die, and regulations or PPE may not always save them... remember you can't regulate logic or reason. Ted, my intention will never be to 'flaunt non-compliance' but only to share my life, with my tree people.

I'm confident saying that we Buzzards are all professionals, and should work together to improve the industry's image. Personally, I wake up every morning and do everything in my power to keep my word to my clients, employee's, and if something were to ever go wrong... I understand I have no one else to blame but myself.

At this point Ted, I would hope I am always a part of both the future and the past. I'm not the reason why I pay so much in worker's comp, I'm just playing the hand i was dealt. Not that it matters much, but the job shown in the video back in 09' was not my job, not my tree service, and homeowners were gone. The video was for Tree Buzzards, I'll be sharing plenty more old and new ones... I'm not one to believe in only posting 'perfect work'. I'm not one to use a nickname or an alias for my Treebuzz profile, nor want you to think I am anyone but myself... so here I am Ted... I hope we can see through our differences. Thanks for watching... Stay safe.

Thanks Scott! Couldn't have been too bad with that beautiful ms660 you have eh?

I can not understand the constant anti-safety attitude of people. The epithets that get thrown at people who are genuinely concerned about others welfare and the professionalism hurt me even when they don't come my way.

Not calling out safety violations as blatant as basic PPE condones the practice.

A friend of mine has a wish that I like. If a magic wand could be waved over the whole industry that would cast a 'helmet spell' on all treeworkers, causing them to always wear helmets, us safety folks would pipe down, zip our lips and be quiet. That ain't gonna happen...so...we're going to spout off. Louder than the complacent non-compliers too.

What's the point of posting a vid of a pretty typical removal with such flagrant safety violations? And then, to ask that the safety issues are ignored? Would you tolerate going to a concert and listening to the band play out of tune, the drummer to be off-beat and the singer to be drunk? And..the band saying, 'Well...we showed up didn't we?! What's your complaint?!'

Tom D, I understand where your coming from. I have some questions... what about the video really bothered you? Chaps i suppose... or hard hats not being warn at all times?

I'm having trouble understanding why people make it their mission in life to protect everybody. If we all wore helmets you safety folks would eventually find another violation to belly ache over.

If you are so concerned about my welfare and professionalism find a way to make your point without coming off so negative or rude. (not directed solely at you)

You say, "What's the point of posting a vid of a pretty typical removal with such flagrant safety violations? And then, to ask that the safety issues are ignored?"

I didn't see the point to keep it on my computer and not to ever share it with my tree people. I never asked anyone to ignore any safety violations, I just asked them nicely to keep it to themselves... why?... because it's so obvious. It's obvious it's better to wear PPE, why state the obvious and waste everyone's time.

Also, I know there are many great tree videos out there, not having proper PPE, which are not posted because they don't want to deal with mouthy people demonizing their work, in the name of image... or what???? For christ teeth Tom D, I expect more from you. What's your issue?

Hey bixler.... stop calling these mutts buzzards. They are not. Not even close to being buzzard. Webster's third definition of buzzard is an aviricious or other wise unpleasant person. Look up avarice too. These guys don't have the hate in them to truly be buzzard. In case you were wondering, my full name is oldirty buzzard. And listening to woodsman44 about anything tree related speaks volumes on your ability to judge talent. He gots none.

I didn't watch the video either...is it worth it? I too consider a ppe-less crew as a sure sign of total hackdom. Should i not watch it because i don't want to have to downgrade my opinion of ya. I already have seen a couple pics of your crane slinging and had a good laugh at that ....

I should probably skip that vid, eh?

Mouthy...
Demonizing...
Image...
you expect from ME???
Issue...

Yeah...what David said!

Bix...you don't know me or know what has gotten me to this place in life.

Here's a clue...

Four dear friends are dead...in the ground...gone...from treework accidents. Mull that over.

There have been people who posted vids or pics that missed the mark. They were contrite and asked for acceptance. That's a much different attitude than yours.

At least we can see your people, huh? What's with the high viz clothing as the only thing people wear? They feel they look cool in it or something? About a month ago, I passed a tree service doing removals, one guy in bucket truck, one woman and two boys, 15 and 14 yrs old on ground. No helmets on anyone. But high viz on the two kids. I passed them twice, then stopped because I said to myself, what if I hear a week later one of those kids die from head injury, because I didn't say anything. Owner took it well, said they had helmets in truck, but he doesn't wear when hot, does not push crew to wear. We talked about how easily a human its hurt our killed. I hope they are now wearing. But he said, it's hard enough to get them to wear the hi viz vests.

I wonder, why are hi viz clothes the only accepted gear to wear for partial idiots?

Bixie!!! No need to send me a pm. You got something to say to me say it here not in pm. Woodsman44 is blackoak here at tbuzz.

Seriously though, should i skip that video or what?
