I put $400 on it without seeing it in person. I've been burned before with pics not doing the size of the tree, or the situation justice. I never learn my lesson though. I'll report back in Monday.I'd do it for a friend on a Saturday for 300 or 400 probably, maybe just free. It really doesn't look very hard. A good solo job but the 900 was a kind of "legit" price to make it worthwhile for going with 2 people.
For a friend? He provides beer and BBQ and moves to the top of the list next time I need help with something. Now what's your friends and family price lol?

That is when you fall through the rotten roof boards and break off a portion of the rotted soffit. Your insurance will get him a new roof and it will be the best part of the whole place. If you can safely stand on the garage roof and land pieces there gently that seems like a not too big job
for a friend, prob just a couple hundred, I'd make it a stob let them do the clean up then come back and drop the stick.... Always sucks to have to move wood off a shit stack of brush
Day rate with them helping. Now what's your friends and family price lol?

That makes it tougher. Don’t want to be “that guy” doing work for endless friends of friends, but maybe not full price. I do sliding scale happily regardless of friendship, but some friends of friends are loaded and don’t need a handout… Most definitely not quoted via pic though, jeez man! It's actually a friend of a friend. Didn't even have his number saved in my phone but I know I've met the dude a couple times at kids bday parties and summer get togethers before. Really close friends would get a bit more generosity out of me.

If there’s no septic tanks or field in the way and easy access for lift and miniView attachment 86619
Here’s one. It’s a wide angle photo, so don’t be deceived since the tree is quite a bit bigger than it may appear.

- ~80’ Tall
Job is to remove the entire tree, including the failed leader that struck the shed. The same failure occurred a few years back on the opposite side of the tree, so the lower trunk is now more or less a thin, rotting, flattened oval shape. Access across the lawn is spongy at best, with wide areas of standing water. Neighbor relations are in the toilet, so no go there.
Whaddaya say, fellow Buzzards?

We would probably crane it out from the street/driveway. Price would depend on the lifting radius, could be as low as $3400 if the radius isn’t too far. That will keep us off the lawn completely, besides footprints, and we definitely won’t need to touch the neighbor’s lawn.View attachment 86619

you see that garage? "If you can stand on it" was a qualifier. Dont think the guy is loaded maybe Tomstree could talk to him for a while. That makes it tougher. try living on a island, everyone is your 'friend' when they call you...Friends of friends get full price and hopefully the satisfaction that they are supporting someone they know.
I take issue with the friends and family discount expectation. They should be contacting you because they want to support you and see you succeed, not because they think they can get a deal. Quote the job as is and at the end of the day I'll decide if I want their money or not.
