There is an article, attached, about John Cleese and his daughter starting work on Fawlty Towers II. Lots of people, me included, think that the original FT is THE FUNNIEST television ever. Not one single throw-away line in the series. Now there's a plan afoot to outdo the best.

Every motivational speaker will say that we can do better by following some plan or formula. I'll be interested in seeing how JC and daughter pull this off.

My bet is that they won't just kick the can down the road they'll send it into orbit. The only time I haven't been bowled over by anything Python was when watched 'And now for something completely different'. The movie was at the theater and went flying right over my head. I sure didn't grok what was funny about blowing up bunny rabbit dolls. Then, I started watching The Flying Circus on TV...and...yup..funniest stuff ever.

It’ll be interesting.
He was in a sitcom recently in the UK which, despite a stellar cast flopped.
He is very ‘anti-woke’ on Twitter, so expect no compromise as I imagine he has creative control.

Imo American sitcoms are usually far better than UK ones, with a few exceptions of course.
Better writing, less lecturing on social matters.

You can test people's frame of reference by firing out one liners when appropriate like "I'm not dead yet. Bring out your dead" etc The hard core fans know the every sperm is sacred song. Elderberries! Hamster!

How often does this happen in our lives? things are going great and we take on some change. Why put out the effort to change, and gain some minute amount, with all nay sayers and friction that goes with change.
Does not make a lick of sense, what are you on about?

Cleese's decision to try and do better than Fawlty Towers will take lots of effort. What's the point? It's pretty much crowned as the funnest sit com.

How much effort might go into having, for example, the sharpest chain? Is there really a difference between 80% of something and 85%? Is it worth the cost and effort? What's the return on investment?

Nostalgia is such a powerful force tho. Nostalgia for the times in which that show came out is probably driving his thought process? He’s such a funny bloke. I watched all those movies and tv shows growing up, but his contribution to A Fish Called Wanda is at the top of my list.

Oh right, sorry if I was brusque, bit pissed last night.

To answer your question, so you don’t die wondering.
