Best climbing rope for lockjack sport?

Hi there,

I was wondering what would be the best climbing rope to purchase when used in conjunction with the LockJack Sport Ascender Descender? Please, if you can, would you give me a few options? And I have also read that if the rope is too thin, it can get hard on the hands, so I think I'll look for a rope that is close to the maximum size capacity for the LockJack Sport (12.5mm)...I'll likely do a fair bit of foot-locking so please consider that as well...if you help me with some feed back?

Only a secondary question:
And I'm curious...what amount of stretch do climbers tend to have in their climbing lines. And yes I realize that may depend a lot on personal preference?

Thanks,
Ken

Foot locking with the sport is very difficult without the use of an extendable bridge...just a thought from experiece...

As for ropes, first select the right clutch (12.5 mm or the 11 mm)

Then find a rope that stays round under load. Most of the 1/2 ropes do that fine from my recollection but your 11mm ropes have a wide variety that may not.

I've been an allgear 11mm fan for years buy the early neo-pro ropes didn't have the third core like say rocket line or velocity have.

consequently as the coreless ropes are put under tension they'd slightly flatten and you could get some creep. While managable, it is a pain in the butt to deal with.

It seems that such creep is not much of a problem if you and your gear are under 180 pounds regardless what rope you use. (I was 225+ without gear when I last used the LJ system)

I didn't have much chance to try it with the cored rocket line as my boy took that rope for himself but when I did use it I can't recall any creep under any load.
