Best 15" Chipper

Why did you go with the 15xp over the 1821?

1400lbs lighter, better financing terms, bit more familiar with Bandit but the weight was a real plus. 6.0 tows is with ease, 7.3 tows it ok but can tell it’s working. I aim to not max out my equipment, the 7.3 can definitely tow more but is taxed around 10k

Bandit always seems to be lighter than Morbark

@Serf Life We picked ours up last august.. and since I've brought the ol 12 out for a day or two while pruning. My guys were appalled at the differences lol, how much brush can be piled in the feed tray on our 18xp and it pulls right in is quite impressive.. the ol 12er still gets it dun with about 4 times the labor cost to feed it..lol

No doubt. One of my previous employers had a 18” morbark eeger beaver which was wicked productive but scary. Put a shorter log in and it would waap waap up and down, knock someone out cold if they fed it wrong.

What are the details on your machine?

2020 bandit 18xp ford 6.2l gasser, winch(hardly used since we feed predominantly with a mini ) solid "oversized" infeed tray. Spare tire mounted, cone holder, electric jack. Even got a strobe light on top for attempting to keep the kooks at bay while operating haha , you know it don't work for that, 200$ option. I like lights :club:

Opinion so far?

Do you like the 6.2?

I’m debating on it or the Diesel: I sold my 280xp last year to finish my house & I’m about ready to get drum for removals.

I’ve been eying the 1821 but I’m open to suggestions.

The motor seems smooth running as can be, the recovery for autofeed on big gassers seems pretty fast compared to bigger diesels ive ran in past.. If it fits it chips, we ate some measured 20 inch diameter pine logs the other day . The feed rollers crushed the corky bark and make it fit. It crushes brushy tops and strong unions down pretty well, minimal relief cuts. Overall for being just under cdl its a gem in my opinion.. tows very well even with our 7.3l 1 ton pulling her .. I don't wanna make this thread about an 18 but d.m. me for more details if you want. 452.jpg

18”s are the best 15” chippers.

Thank You.
