leaving it all behind on the ground.. nothing but you and the tree in harmony

making all the pieces come together like a symphony..

getting creative and pulling stuff off... every tree is different and presents a different challenge.. there is no one right way to do it, so there is always room for improvement..

getting to show you guys all the things that you think can't be done safely...LOL

Having a client offer up her body as a tip ( yeah she was a looker )

ok,ok she had a crush on me in highschool, but she didn't look like that back then.

X2 FRAX!!!!! I think that same thought all the time early in the morn.

Last sips of coffee before ascent, its early and the city is still, working my way to the top I get comfy and just stop and look around for a few mins. I see people dressed in nice clothes getting into their cars going of to some faceless building to sit all day and do their thing. I feel like the luckiest guy in the world, and sometimes feel sorry for others that they will probably never experience that same satisfaction that I do in that moment. Being in the tree where time seems to stand still.

Then I pull that black handle attached to the cord and its go time.

There is a book called "Flow... the psychology of optimal experience", which does a great job of explaining why climbing trees professionally is such a rewarding experience..
Page 60" ... what is most striking when one actually speaks to specialists in risk, is how their enjoyment comes not from the danger itself, but from the ability to minimize it... the positive emotion they enjoy is the perfectly healthy feeling of being able to control potentially dangerous forces"

Good book if you get a chance

-Using constants (physics) to accomplish goals which are variable (operations in arboriculture)

-Having a different office everyday

-Working with great people

-Working outside everyday

-The singular focus that is required regularly

-Knowing knots and how to apply their uses

-Feeling healthy and knowing that my wife and I could live to a healthy old age together

-Knowing that there is always something more to learn about what I love to do and that within every sub-specialty, there are more details

It's a fundamental lifestyle choice:

Risk appetite, embracing challenges, affirming life, seeking to increase positive experiences.

<OR>

Risk tolerance, avoiding challenges, fearing death, seeking to decrease negative experiences.

There's only one choice that I see.
