Becoming an arborist

[ QUOTE ]
Assume you know nothing of saws, chippers, etc. Don't be some guy who talks about all he knows, and boasts about himself. Ask questions, learn and work hard and respect will be earned.

[/ QUOTE ]

I fully agree. I would treat learning this trade (is is ok to call arborculture a trade? If not, feel free to scold me!) just as I treated my electrical apprenticeship. I would not make a move without being fully instructed and supervised first, especially as I'm aware of the dangers involved.

Well, the tree topping discussion is a bit above my pay grade right now, but again, I truly thank everyone for the advice and tips so far.

2nd post and he's already making fun of me... this guy's gonna fit right in....

OK, I'll get serious. Can we talk about plunged vertical snap cuts or the step cut instead?

I never bought your initial claims of being a badazz, the bike helmet gave you away.

I apologize that my comments toward Daniel went overboard and required moderator intervention. He has actually been quite helpful in answering many basic questions I've asked him via email ever since I began watching his videos, and I have much respect for him and his knowledge. I have nothing against him at all, and I'm sorry that I jumped on the bandwagon of making fun of him. It was all meant in good fun anyway. I know that doesn't translate well on the screen, so again, my apologies.

Welcome to Treebuzz. Your post did not pass tom's mom test. In this case, it was purely for his own amusement, as your post didn't contain anything vile or repulsive. He just wants you to know who's the boss.

Be that as it may, shame on me for attempting to dethrone you from your position as Daniel's appointed provocateur.

Tom, don't delete what I just wrote. (I'm the boss)

We're all masters of our own domain ;)

The only passengers on that bandwagon are Daniel and Stephan. The rest of us are all unwelcome. :)

I must have smoked too much pot in the 70's... (that's an excuse of course) Am I the only one wondering what just happened? I thought we were all just having some fun... I forgot what I wrote... couldn't have been too crazy... someone help me out here..

I get tired of reading threads that deteriorate into off tangent feeding frenzies.

If you can't remember what you wrote then it likely didn't apply to what the OP asked.
