Basic setup question

I know this has been discussed at length in various posts. I have done a lot of searching and read to the point of confusion. Some things just don't translate well for me and they can be hard to picture. I am asking for opinoins on my basic ascending equipment/plan.
Single rope either over the TIP and tied to base of tree or running bowline to TIP. Kong double handle ascenders tethered to waist with webbing. VT hitch at waist with micro pulley. Pantin foot ascender on right foot.
Get to top, lanyard in and switch over.

That is the basic plan. Is this safe? Is there any components I should/could add.

I am trying to keep it relatively simple, but I don't want to sacrifice safety.

Thanks to all who read and can offer some advice.

For me and this is just my opinion, i would have a big problem with the vt hitch below the ascender. If the ascender was to fail and slide down the rope its going to release your vt. My personal preference would be to put a tether on the VT hitch at place that ABOVE the ascender.

Again personal opinion don't know if this is a proven thing but i've heard as a concern of others as well.

As another newbie I don't want to pretend to know anything but your avatar photo worries me. Is that a redirect I hope? The rope is hanging well out from the trunk. The safest TIPs will always be close to the trunk, at least for us noobs. The gurus can do whatever they want.

You might reconsider the VT for a friction hitch if you're not familiar with it. It's an advanced hitch that doesn't catch every time, sometimes you have to set it after compressing it with a pulley.

Maybe a Distel? I'm not an SRT type.

The VT is a great hitch, I just thought it was worth mentioning because it wouldn't be a nice surprise to learn that in the field.

the three times ive srted at work that is similar to the set up i use minus the kong add the upper mar bar and a piece of webbing as tl said

Thanks for the feedback guys. I am enjoying coming up with a safe and effective SRT ascending technique. I will continue to play with it.

As far as the avatar goes, it was a re-direct. But if you were looking at the rope to the left that was actually for rigging purposes.
