I used to work for this branch and the crews and management are top notch. You hear a lot of horror stories about some of the bigger companies but I strongly recommended working for this branch of Bartlett. If I ever found myself out west again I would definitely contact them for a job.

Good luck with that one, hard qualities to come by in a tree cutter.

We've got a real top notch Bartlett branch here in Minnesnowduh too.

I will consider the position for $40/hr, or a flat annual salary of $80,000. I have experience in all elements of pruning and removals, including technical crane work, and rigging around high-voltage lines. I am also an ISA certified arborist with extensive experience in PHC and IPM.

Some days I don't feel like climbing though. And I'm not an early riser, so I prefer a "soft schedule" with a start time of 9:00 - 10:00am. Some days I won't make it in at all, but I will definitely be able to notify someone, so jobs can be rescheduled.

I love the summers in Vancouver, and look forward to relocating; but the winter can get gloomy, so I'll need a few months off to visit Texas, at least through the holidays. (November - Januaryish)

Okay, PM me for more details . . .

At first, I was like, "why is he writing this in public and not in confidential, then it got more interesting and I understood..." Good one.

I'll do the job, for $39 an hour, with the same demands about time off and mornings.

I've worked for many different companies in different places including the UK and USA, I'd say I've probably had experience of working with about 70 or so different treeworkers, climbers and groundies.........for a good length of time in any one location, not just short term contracts, I got to know all these people.

Of those 70 I'd say only 3 were of right mind and reasonable intellect and I include myself among those 3.

This is highly irregular and likely suspect . . . I have good information that "SZ" is a ringer, and functions as a blackleg; here to undermine my considerate and generous offer.

And besides, he is a Kentuckian, and pursuing a title of Colonel. You couldn't get him for less than $42/hr, and you don't have the millinery to support a character of his ilk. He's an aristocrat.

Look beyond this charade.

Some of your charges have a "colonel" of truth, well, I take that back. Everything you suspect about me is probably true. As for clothing, I still rely on the good folks at Arborwear. Provided they ship to wherever the hell this position is being offered, I accept the terms of the agreement (the $42/hour part). I can't help that I keep allowing the peasantry surrounding my country home to eat copious amounts of cake. That's just who I is.

ok maybe 'right mind' isn't exactly the right way to put it. now that you mention it, most good tree workers are off their rocker.

a better way of explaining would be that you have your sh@t together, hows that?

in terms of intelligence, in my opinion you can't be a decent climber unless you are some-what smart. problem solving is a huge part of what we do.

one of these days i hope we can work a three day week for that sorta cash. realistically 40$ an hour isnt that unreasonable in the scheme of things. think about how much those industrial access guys make on the oil rigs. Unionize the trade!

but yeah you boys are dream'n, barking up the wrong tree even. wont make anywhere near that here, but there's some good lads/lasses and some good times to be had.

Hey letigre,

I have so much info and so much collective info..... wish i could make a stand and be a part to regulate this industry.

Unions are not the answer. They are a big part of the problem.

Best we not go there

I'm in for the afore mentioned $80k a year, however would also require 6 months of vacation twice a year with a company truck. It should be known however that I have a hard enough time climbing out of bed in the morning, let alone a tree, and would prefer not to operate a rake.
Wait, just read Bartlett. Deal breaker!
