Bandit chute loop

Does anyone know why all the Bandit chippers have that loop on top of the chute? Looks like you could hook something onto it. Always wondered but have never asked....

Get one clogged, and I mean really clogged, and you'll see pretty quick. Like Axe said, decently balanced pick point to lift the entire chute off the machine. Gawd I hope I never ever see a chipper packed that tightly again!

If you mount a simple little hand crank cable winch just above the curve of the chute and attach the cable to that loop on top of the shoot, when you plug up all you have to do is pull the pin from the chute height adjuster and crank the the winch. Shoot stands straight up so you can unclog easily. Takes 2 min. This is assuming you have a hinged chute. Love mine.

Do you have a pic of this setup?
