Bandit 1590xp or M15R

Yep all they wanna sell are large excavators and dozers, you call them up and it's months before they get back to you! Very irritating! Don't know the chipper models from stump grinder models it's kinda brutal!Just glad the morbarks have nearly zero down time ! Also can't beat Eddy! Best mechanic out there ! Even though he's not Morbark anymore still takes care of us!
Ed is a great mechanic he used to service all our Rayco machines ,he is back at trenchless now ,isn't he?

Well as an update on the GM gas engines. The 130 died Monday afternoon when we were finishing up a pile of brush. I thought I had run it out of fuel because of the steep grade we were set up on. Put 10 gallons in got it flat and all it would do is crank. The dealer was out mid morning on Tuesday and ran diagnostics and found a low fuel pressure code. Guess they have 3 machines in our area doing this right now. The rx... order and replace the fuel pumps and replace the fuel filters. Luckily, I guess the tech said if you let it sit for an hour it clears the air lock and allows it to start again. Fingers crossed, they have the answer. But I was super happy with the response and getting it going again! Just hope it stays going through tomorrow!!!

What ever were the results, Mert?

What ever were the results, Mert?

Tech came out the next day, put a computer on it and said it was a low fuel pressure and blamed the fuel pump. Said he was having issues with two other machines but couldn't get his hands on the pumps. Good thing is it cranked for him and started right up. It's run ever since. We had I parked on a hill away from the fuel pick up that day, I think we ran it out of fuel. Just don't understand why it took so much to get it going again. I'm holding my breath that it is figured out before 3 years or 3000 hrs!!!

Gas engine is the issue . Stick with diesel

Good for you! Great deduction. Diesel option was 20k+/- more coin... that I didn't have. I don't need a 15" machine but for about half the time. Because of all the preservation, pruning and caring for trees I do I decided to go 15 with a gas for economic, emissions and straight up dollars and cents. I'll put my well maintained gasser up against a similarly powered diesel any day.
Btw @Jeff Kowell our conversation has to do with a fuel pump, not the type fuel going through it. Just the fact it didn't pump fuel for 12 hrs. Funny thing is my diesel chipper was down for a week... due to a fuel pump issue. That is when I had a diesel!

We should start a new thread dedicated to the new gas engines in 12 to 15" chippers.

The bandit rep told me that they are offering the v8 option for the 15" chippers at a couple grand upgrade.

Yeah, well i was also told 4.5 years ago they were almost out of 175 horse tier 3s...2 years later they were still offereing them...all to sell. I also dont think they're using their pickled steel anymore either.

Yes, but he didn't give the hp.
The v6 is 130 hp and I believe the v8 is 165. It is important to ask the cost for upgrade when buying a machine. When I bought in October it was +5k to go from 89 hp gas to 130 hp gas. And right around another 5k to go from 12 to 15". For 10k ($2000 a year)the 15" upgrade just made sense. The 165 wasn't available at that time.
