Bandit 1590xp or M15R

Try a 255 bandit. I have 2 and they are best chipper in our fleet , it's a 15 inch disc ,we pack the trucks with at least 2 loads /day and both are on 30+yard chipper trucks

The new narrow tires suck for going in yards...we had bandit set our newer one up with fat tires from the factory...those were complete crap...lasted 6 months and had a speed rating of 45 mph...back to narrows again...no suitable replacement with the bolt pattern and weight on the rims.

I would agree the narrow tire sucks. They just seem to cut in even when trying to angle off the drive or away from an obstacle. I want to find a way to mount a couple mats to the chipper for the mini skid and angling off.

The narrow tires on which model?

I love Morbarks. To add to this .... I have no beef with Bandits. They are solid well built machines also. It's almost like the saws. I'm a Sthil guy but the Sweeds build an excellent saw also.
With that said the 18R is a 10,000lb model without accessories like a winch.

Narrow tires on the bandit 1590s..both of ours were stock with 6" wide heavy duty speed rated radials...they worked with us on the first one and we swapped fenders to cover the wider tires/ rims...we ordered our newest 1590 ( the high hp, longer frame, tier 2, 9980 pound with no winch model and asked to get wide tires...which they did...but they were farm trailer tires with a 45 mph speed rating.) They lasted 6 months. Long story short; no matter the brand, a 10,000 pound chipper on 2 narrow tires will cut into a dry yard...thats the price you pay...well worth it though imo...

It got down to weight ratings on tires/rims...and what would also match up to the axle...we were told originally we might have to sign a waiver but never did...cuz they found drag racing rims (paint went to shit in 2 months) and these crap grain hauling trailer tires that they never told us were not highway rated. Were were expecting the same tire/rim combo as our first one but also weren't told how much heavier the new machine was. Its my belief that we ordered one of the newest high hp 1590 because it was delivered with a pintle ring when we wanted a 2 5/16" ball to match up with our tractors...upon delivery we found out it was so close to 10k pounds they didn't feel comfortable about doing that anymore.

I love bandit . The factory is awesome and all the people there are very helpful . They have the best service and the Chippers last forever . I have a 200XP That won't die . Also my 1990XP is a beast . The 1590XP is a great mid size chipper that you can also get larger infeed and higher output engine . Can't go wrong . Morbark is great as well and have a couple but bandit service is hands down the best

Funny thing is Bandit evolved from Morbark. Like the Dodge Brothers worked for Henry Ford previously.
Morbark should take notice of this ..... their customer service is lacking compared to Bandit.

Agreed. But it also more than their service. Their design is off and they don't listen when a potential client has a problem with their product. My sales guy was dead set that 2 knives were better that 4 and wouldn't listen to reason. In the end I wanted to get him to come out when I was demoing the bandit but i figured it was going to be a waste of breath and let it go.

I agree with this...and I own a Morbark. I had the bottom feed wheel brake, along with 100s if not 1000 of other people. They did nothing to remedy this to save their name. Also one of the problems is Morbark is connected with Nortrax...they are a HUGE dealer and distributor. However they know very little about the machine and act as a middle man between Morbark and the consumer. Hard to be heard when you have to go through Nortrax

I'm thinking of sending an email to a Morbark rep. Maybe get him to join the buzz. They kinda skimp a bit on their brush models compared to their production whole tree harvesters.
