bagworms?

I was talking about bagworms, Thyridopteryx ephemeraeformis, and was merely relaying part of a newsletter that I recieve frome the UT Ag. extention. As with any treatment for bagworms, timing would be critical. I agree that it would be highly unlikely for a bird to be able to get into the bag or that one would even try, especially with feed around. I think the idea is that the birds would eat the ones that were actually out actively feeding. I doubt that I will be using this method as a primary treatment or recommendation, but I think that I will experiment with bird attractors in key areas that I know are highly succeptable to bagworm infestation. Anything that can be done to reduce the use of pesticides and encourage wildlife is worth trying.
