Funny that I feel fine once I'm up there moving around. The pain tends to disappear and things feel good. It's when I'm done and at home that it comes back to haunt me. My problem is my upper back. I'll check out that book.

Hey Ken, I can highly recommend an Upper Cervical Chiropractor. I have scoliosis and 2 dislocated ribs that give me trouble on occasion. I have seen multiple Chiropractors and used inversion tables but never saw any permanent improvement until someone convinced me to try an Upper Cervical Chiropractor. They adjust your neck and the rest of your spine starts popping into place on it's own.

I think being in the tree is a help to my back as well.

How is everyone liking the book that merle suggested i still havent gotten it yet.

I've read about half and started putting it into practice within a few hours of my first read. Looks first rate to me and it meshes with everything I've read over the years on the importance of biomechanical body alignment. The book is worth many times it's cost, IMO. Merle has done us all a great service.

It’s fun to read your compliments and appreciation for my recommendation of the book Somatics guys. Thanks.

For anyone suffering with back pain, muscle issues, or joint alignment problems and still wondering what they should do I will include a few sentences of brutal honesty. I am basically lazy at heart when it comes to exercises. If I could pay someone else to fix me I would. If someone developed a magic pill that could make my back and body work appropriately without me having to do anything I would buy it. How much would I pay for that magic, no side effects, pill? At least $25,000, maybe 50K or 75K if they would let me make payments.

Till then, at least 15 minutes of Somatic movements each day. Laze off and pains start to return, get going again and they go away.

Yeah, I do think it is threadworthy. I will start one at some point (if no one else has by then) to make sure as many people hear about it as possible.

Great find on that older printing of the book. I think Somatics was also put out in Spanish. I have looked for it and Googled it - no luck. Does anyone have any tech skills or ideas for finding in Spanish?

One, of mamy things that's reduced my achy back is using a TreeFlex harness. Getting the load of my body off the soft tissues of my back and onto the bones of my hips makes quite a difference. Still get sore but nothing that a hot shower at the end of the day doesn't wash away.

$20 Heating blanket. That’s what inoculates me from my excuse that it’s too cold to do Somatics on a cold floor in the winter. Five minutes from the time I get up and that blanket is the warmest/most comfortable place in the house.

The back is generally the weakest link in the chain. If you support the organ of the meridian associated with the back pain, you may get permanent relief... I'd try a good iridologist if you can find one.. Mine said the above to me 25 years ago, gave me a couple bottles of herbs to support something, maybe the kidneys??? and I've never had a lower back issue since

My wife turned me onto Ttapp. It seems hokey at first, but don't knock it till you try it. I can definitely feel a difference.

My Lower Back is hurting bad enough to prevent me from working...it would be great if anyone has some simple suggestions for me like...a good medication to use, heat and cold?...stretching (can a person stretch the pain away)...back brace? I'm just really wanting to get back to work ASAP...

Any help would be great...
Thank,
Ken
So the only thing that seems to help me is always stretching, yoga is fantastic.posture and sitting effect this greatly when I'm on the tree crew not overloading my muscles is very important. I will feel that for days after, medication is not the way to go all you do is cover up the pain and you think you can do more, adding to injury. The top of the gluteus hold a lot of tension maybe because of saddle ? But tell you wife or girlfriend to hammer that out or punch. It shall feel overwhelmingly painfully/great.
