Back in the saddle

moss

Been here much more than a while
Finally felt ready to climb after some surgery in early December, yeah!!! Happy to be climbing again, 5 weeks no climb is my longest layoff from the trees in 13 years. I feel the difference today, everything is better ;-)

@moss
I see your in MA also. Where are you climbing in this pic?

I'm currently living in Carlisle, MA, these photos are climbing in the 32 acres of woods out behind where I live, more climbing opportunities than I can keep up with. That said there are so many places to climb once you get outside 495. Send me a PM to discuss!

Been eyeballing some acreage near Gardner, MA...

All the way from Wisconsin, you must have a huuuuge telesccope! Challenge with land in New England is most of it not under protection has been "high graded" over the years, ie the "management" cut took out all the best trees and left small stuff. But there are pockets here and there with good trees in the woods.

I've seen some real nice specimens while mtn biking at Great BrookFarm right near you AJ. I've got Leominster State Forest where I do most of my riding and have scoped out some nice oaks.

I do, I call it "street view" and I've been all over those roads up there.

I was surprised that a lot of the acreage was listed as "no restrictions" for logging. It's too bad, and I figured it was not untouched old growth forest. But still, I can see some big canopies further off the highways. Need to make a trip out this spring and see for myself.

Wasn't meaning to rain on your parade, always potential for something special when you're looking at land. Let me know when you're around!

What a beautiful picture. I am bed bound with an injury, for me one month out of the harness is way too long, miss the wind and feel, the sounds and smells.
