Aussie's Ass Hat Prime Minister...

Been reading a lot on the fires in Australia.

Sorry the author is an activist and somewhat blind to some glaring facts.

She is somewhat negligently shielding the authors of this latest fire being the state leaders that have adopted Green policies that inevitably do more damage than what they were trying to prevent; in some cases have criminally gutted the budget for fuel reduction; and criminally prosecuted landowners that were attempting to protect properties - in one case prosecuting a farmer for digging up a protected tree root that was on fire (and had been for three weeks after a blaze had been put out) as well as many others for installing fire breaks, and in some cases for installing a fire break 3ft too wide etc.... Also in some areas the fire control officers (people able to run controlled burns) have been reduced by 75% to cut costs allowing fuel loads to reach critical levels.

She is also neglecting the arson factor - nearly 183 people have been charged either with arson, or with negligently starting fires. There are claims that hundreds more fires may have been started by arsonists. Apparently lighting strike is responsible for less than 13% of fires, a statistic that has been repeated over many years, with the remaining fires evenly split for negligence and arson.

Also the claims that the Australian Prime Minister didn't intervene early is complicated in that legislatively he doesn't have authority to directly intervene as the states have responsiblity - which many states have refrained from doing to limit spending and from activist complaints that add Red/Green Tape delays. Should he have made a national issue about it and forced the issue - I believe yes. But that would have had to be pushed through media and through the legal processes and probably would have taken years.

Last weeks implementation of the military to assist in fire emergency is the first time since WW2 that the military have been deployed large scale and is probably a watershed moment in emergency management in Australia.

Whatever your views on climate change the dry climate that has plagued Australia making it one of the driest years they have had in recent memory has been caused by the Positive Indian Ocean Dipole that has only very recently reversed, bringing the first tropical rains Australia has had in a while..

There have also been many periods over the last 150 years with far worse heat, and worse dry periods. Australia is known as a desert isle.

I suspect the Australian media blitz pushing Anthropogenic Climate Change as responsible is the result of Australian state media department's going into overdrive trying to protect the political and emergency management leaders of those states that haven't done the required prescribed/mitigation burning (as required to do after recent post fire disaster enquiries)...

There is also international pushes for this recognition too to push the politics of Anthropogenic Climate Change.

I think next fire disaster enquiry is going to be a must read...
