August Hunicke Videos

No longer visible on YouTube. Dangitall! If it weren't for August's video, I would've never never heard of Pitbull and that tune. Guess I'll ignore Pitbull and Kei$ha in the future. That's OK ... prefer country music anyway.
Hey, August! You are an inspiration to those of us less capable. God bless you & I pray you stay safe! <Ken>

Seems like this is getting out of hand. Much of August's excellent work is falling into some cyber/legal pit of bullshit just because his brilliant work is garnering some larger interest. This is exactly the reason I hate the pop music machine... too much money = too much power. Props to you August for pushing through. Love the Dead Wood vid!

Way too cool August. That IS the coolest tree vid I've seen!

"secrets will be unveiled." YES!!!

Plus your truck is by far the coolest tree truck I've seen as well...

Did I mention I liked this video?

Keep the tips coming, August! A lot can be learned from video, but explanations may make it more clear to those of us not paying close attention to the details.

Thanks John. Pretty quiet buzz thread over here ; )

Nice job August, we use speedlines on a regular basis and are the only ones around my parts that do(the correct way). I think between you, Reg, and Bixler its made it more visible to other arborists how efficient they are! If I only had more time to make videos I would but you guys are on top of it, and the best at it for tree work! They are especially useful on dead trees where you don't want to shock load anything, just sling the branch, put the right amount of tension on the speedline and cut! Thanks for sharing, also what make is that rope grab? does treestuff have em or getting them?

I think it's called a "tree runner." Tree stuff does not stock it. Available from supply stores in Germany I think.

watch out speedlining dead trees. Speed lines load the tree perpendicularly to their strong axis and can cause failure from side loading. especially when you are pretensioning the line to start with

Actually we do it a lot and if you have awesome ground guys the stem takes absolutely no load at all. We let em fly right off and land softly. Comes with a lot of experience and obviously the right tree and circumstances. Not for beginners!
