ART rope guide

What does the one you make look like? I don't need the primus with the cocoon pulley, the older one would be fine.

I like that. It looks like it would do the job nicely. Have you used it yet? How did it work? I don't splice yet, going to be in a class at Knot and Rope Supply this June, Would you consider making one for me and if so how much would it cost?

I dont understand how the knot will pass through the pulley and catch on the screw link. It seems like they're the same size and the knot would get stuck on the pulley

Ranger where did he get that cone above the cocoon pulley?

No idea. I think he had them made. For his prototypes, he used electrical tape to create a cone shape. I've also heard that you can cut off the end of a funnel for the same effect.

a little pricey in my opinion. For that kinda money i'll take the real thing; not someones knock off.

Outside of the cocoon pulley the rest of that set up shouldnt cost more than about 50 bucks......That being said 250 might be the most i'd pay for that rig....

That link is from New Zeland. So the price you see if not what the item costs in Us dollars. I'm not sure what the conversion is but its close to 250ish for that setup iirc.

The eye is spliced with some material inside the rope to keep it open. Thats the key to making this rig really shine is the stiff eye. Rich H is working on a prototype but won't release it until its had further testing. He doesn't want the material that is keeping the eye open to wear inside it prematurely.

Its still too expensive for my blood.

Maybe you could "Dunlap up" a cone to put above the pulley. There seems to be a lot of little plastic cones lying around after the 4th of July. I like the funnel too though.
