Arborwear

ive never tried arborwear and i probably never will

I used to be a die hard carhart guy until I tried a pair of dickies double knee work pants

I have four pair that have lasted two and a half years and still going.

the material is light and breathes the color holds and they are economical

you can buy three pair for the price of carharts or arborwear

and they do look professional

My arborwear pants wore in the same spots treeco. I also own 3 pairs of pants size 32 that never fit me. They were way too tight which is weird because my other 32s fit.

I took hollys advice a year ago and switched pants all together. My rei pants are incredibly comfortable and light weight and cool in the summer, warm in the winter. They also have 4way stretch fabric so they are amazingly stretchable and somewhat water resistant.

I stopped shopping arborwear when it stopped being arborwear

if anyone wants to buy the 7 pairs of new-mildly used arborwear pants for 10 bucks a pair feel free to pm me. Otherwise I would reccommend trying the rei pants that I'm talking about or ask holly where he gets his pants from (I believe it's from eastern mountain sports, his are cheaper in price)

Here's a pair that is only torn where the double knee patches join the main pants. I do use my knees some while climbing yet the knees show no wear. I've got two pair like this. If someone from Arborwear want's to contact me I'm all ears. I think they were defective from the factory.

That is exactly why I do not buy the double knee pants.... they always fail at the stitch line way before I blow them out anywhere else. I can make the single panels last much longer w/out that stitch. In my opinion, that is a design flaw.

I like the fit and long wear of the carhartt brand double jeans, but only the denim and original tan ones, they last the longest.

I have a double thick Arborwear sweatshirt the company bought for me two years ago, I have probably worn it every single day since I got it... the cuffs are wearing out, but it's still going strong. I love that thing. I can't wait to get a new one.

the company bought me the original heavy canvas tree climbers shirt, I love that thing too, enough that I bought another one... but I have gotten very superstitious that I get sick every time I wear it... doesn't see much action these days.

I have the Arborwear zip-up jacket, I love that thing, too. It feels like it was custom tailored to fit me. It's probably four years old, the zipper is starting to act up, but everything else is fine.

I also got a free Arborwear Vest for demo'ing a Vermeer chipper, it's excellent. I am not a vest guy, and I wear that thing pretty commonly.

but what about those other companies that make gusseted, hard working, double kneed pants? Holly?

I would really love to see some competition in the market. I have never seen any pants like arborwears which is too bad. Some of the other climbing options are just way to ridiculously expensive. Relatively to even Carharts which suck, arborwears are reasonable.

But I do think its great when another company comes in and undercuts a monopoly and prices fall. Maybe someone should come out with dendrowears.

I bought some Arborwear bibs at the TCI expo. One of the buckles fell apart in the wash this spring. I called them up and they sent me a new pair within 3 days. I call that excellent service and will continue to give them my business.

for heavy pants try out this place Duluth Trading Co. just about every pant they make have a gusset crotch. Want super heavy try out the Fire Hose Work Pants. How about a pant that has a pocket to place a knee pad in? Check out the MN DTPro™ Work Pants. They even a pair of logger pants. Thats just afew I know of I could search and most likly find a dozen more.

Arborgay is funny. He took the "wear" out, and added "gay".

Supremely funny stuff.

I don't know where he comes up with this material, but he should take it on the road.

Don't hate the player hate the game. Not my fault you guys only shop from within your tiny little circle. I would think someone as adverse as you easy would know alot more than smart comments and silly avatar pics. as fat as you are I'm sure you spend most your day on the comp, try looking around at gear instead of the snappy pics.

Ed. What's was the name of the pants you wore the day I worked with you? They are a lot cheaper then the ones I bought. I'm a bit pissed that I spent all that money on 4way stretch material pants when I could have spent a fraction of the cost.

IMO, they are more versatile and much more comfortable then any tech pants I've ever worn

Sorry Kevin, I have to point this out...Arborwear does not have a monopoly. They have created a niche in the clothing market that appears to have done well. If in fact they are earning profits, someone will notice and compete in that niche. This is the wonderful thing about capitalist markets- they create incentives to be creative (on the flip side, they also create incentives to copycat (err, Sherrill???))

Carhartts, Dickeys, Levi's, Arborwear are all considered substitutes for one another and compete with on another at some level.
