ArborMax insurance

Ive been with Arbormax for a few months. My overall GL costs were almost cut by a third but my auto with them was about 25% more expensive. The main reason was to get into their Workers Comp plan. After I complete my CTSP I will be able to get like 26% or so which is a huge savings for me. Right now im with the state and they like dealing with the KGB.

Thanks, Casey, but after speaking to them, they only cover several midwest states, WI, IL, MI, and one other.

Sorry about that. They told me you called and told me the same thing. Felt stupid sending you to a dead end. Sorry.

No Worries, Casey.

I get my WC through the state for about $3.15/ hour, so that's pretty darn good by my estimation. 17-26%

I will be getting an AM quote soon.

Why not keep auto seperate? Is it a better bundle, overall.

This is my first year in business for myself. I've talked to several Insurance companies and they all tell me the same thing I don't make enough or have enough employees. They all told me about the state run insurance. I've contacted every government office I can think of from city County to state and they act like I'm crazy. Even gave the SBA a call and they just wanted to know if I wanted a loan.I want to cover my guys but don't have any idea how to get covered in Tn. Please someone help. I've lost jobs because of this. I've got GL but the company I use says I need 5 full time employees or need to make over $250,000 before they will cover me.

Crazy. Seems like you need to research the laws in your state. Maybe you don't NEED it. Perhaps you could use the money to get full medical coverage for your staff, instead.

Your insurance salesman is a liar, get a new one. I had two employees when i started covering them last year with wc. it paid for itself the first month when while doing lake view clearance a guy tripped on a stump in the water and a five inch splinter from a willow tree went behind his kneecap. I pay the state percentage at 25% of payroll. they take $3500 to start then bill you every quarter. Your insurance guy cannot deny you coverage it is a law in our state. report him and get a new guy look for someone to do your whole package with gc, wc, auto, crane, tools, rental so you can grow your business.

I am in your area and just got started with wc. I went through a similar series. Call Mowery Insurance and ask for David Bowles. 865.584.1115. He will get you fixed up. You will be on the Tennessee State plan for the first year before you can shop around. I contacted several companies and they all required you to have been covered before.

Side note...We need to get together and do some rec climbing. I'm 20 minutes away.

Just to be clear, you aren't REQUIRED to have wc in Tennessee if you have less than 5 employees, but you sure are hanging it out there.

And back on thread...I talked to the Arbormax people in Nashville at the Southern chapter conference and I wasn't impressed. The guy asked how many employees I had (3) and after I told him I could hardly get an answer out of him. Short story long, he soft-quoted rates in the low 20's IF I was accredited by TCIA!!!. My agent said I can get that through several companies. So there's that for what it's worth. I cannot comment on their customer service.

There needs to be a like button on treebuzz.

I am on arbormax but to be quite honest im not all that impressed with how the TCIA markets it and themselves. To them small business is like 1mil to 5 mil. We need an org that is all inclusive from startups to the top. It would be nice to have a collective buying power agreement to bring the wc rates down. 35 percent is what im at. thats just stupid.

You are 100%. From what I see, there's nothing wrong with Arbormax. They just don't care about the little guys. They've made the decision to focus on the big fish. We do the same thing all the time when we bid trees, no?

That said, I'll remember when I AM making $1 million/yr who helped me along the way and from the sound of it, Arbormax won't be on that list.

Stratum Insurance will be.

love
