Arborguard Training Day

Thanks for the pics Rob. That Oak has a few ropes in it! /forum/images/graemlins/smirk.gif It was really cool to get back down there. Your guys are fun to work with. I have had some great emails from them. But, damn it was cold for "Hotlanta"! /forum/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I was offered a job with Arborguard in 1997 (for people who love trees) Is Barry Smith still the vice president there? What about Spence, is he still top dog? I had just got my ISA certification and was looking to relocate. my "stumbling block" was the cost of living. I had just bought my first house and couldn't find anything comparable, in the price range, close to what I had. I was 23. If I knew "training" like that was in the future(and the success of that company), I may have taken them up on their offer. I'm not one to look back... but in my opinion, Arborguard is a first rate company. Also, I have a wonderful wife and son(the reason I go to work every day). I'm glad to see "our current state of affairs" are on the up.(see Tom Dunlaps post)

it's great to have chances to train with the best! .... too bad i had to leave halfway through.....

Rob

P.s. Mark you should see my improvements on "the throwball Lancher" Way Cool!

Barry is no longer at Arborguard but spence is still the president. I have worked with Arborguard going on 6 years now started as a crew leader now the Plant Health Care Director. We are always looking for people to join our team. Send me a e-mail if anyone whats more info.
Robert

By the way, did you hear that my last fl time was 15 seconds?

Rob

What does Arborguard do for the roots of that big oak, like those under that pavement?

You've spread east to charlotte; any thought of extending to Raleigh?

$30,000? Is that what you get paid for a day, Mark? NOw I'm certain that I'm in the wrong end of this business.

Mark charged us 50 K a day . /forum/images/graemlins/bling.gif Whats up with that.

The willow oak gets a special mix of nutrients and air spadeing. thats about it.
Oh, it gets pruned when guys walk out to far on limbs on cold days and they break off.
Remember that Mark.

Guy I think Mark was saying that $30k is the 'missed' income the crews would have made had they worked instead of trained.

Of course after training.........the crews new income is $35k! making the training well worth it.
