anyone try to climb with any of these gloves?

Well, you can doubt me until you have them in your hand. As, so many people are just talk and type. I would doubt me until I proved otherwise. I have a lot to do this month, part of my list, is get the gloves out to you all.
 
Here are two gloves-
both brand new.

the ones on the left are the Kevlar Atlas $11.95/ea @ Sherrill Tree
the ones on the right were bought from the local grocery store for somewhere around $2.70/ea

The grocery store gloves may last a bit less and do not have kevlar fabric, but fit the hand a lot more snug and in my opinion outperform the normal Atlas glove by far.

Check your local grocery store!

All the remaining glove samples were sent out last week to all those that asked.

Since it took so long, the guys that were willing to buy them, got them free too.

They are $9.00 each if buying a dozen.

Kevlar stretch fabric.

The nitrile really stays on a very long time and doesn't come off and get sucked into your hitch cord and such like the cheapies do on the first or second day.

Cheap gloves last me 1 to 2 days. These aren't as cheap, but last mathematically much longer than the price increase over the cheap ones. (if my wording makes any sense) Plus, they don't piss you off.

Good number of guys got them, so it will be interesting what they say.

NO, no more free handouts. Don't everyone else start asking for samples.

IF you buy an XRR sling or something, you can ask for a sample if you didn't get any yet.

Had my first day with them and found them to be good. Because of the thickness of the fabric they may work as winter gloves considering the local weather conditions. A five tree climb this weekend should give them a good workout. Thanks X!
 
I had hopes they'd prove to be the holy grail of gloves but, alas I have to report they are only average. After a week of use they're done. This was climbing every day cleaning up after Sandy. So the wear points, a hole between thumb and index finger and, the nitril wore through on a couple fingers. As for a mild winter glove the nitril overpowers the material and is just as cold as the thinner nitril gloves. Compared to latex they last longer and don't peel. I can't justify the cost against the thin nitril gloves I get now, 5 for $10.

Thanks for the report. I am suprised.

You must work harder than I do, I swear they last at least a month for me, often 2 months.

Cheap gloves last a day maybe two days tops.

So I thought $9.00 each was a good deal.
 
ugly gloves at $2.50 a pair,one pair is in bad shape each day; one week (5 days) of hard work, five gloves = $12.50.

atlas summer gloves at $3.56. i thought lasted 2 days.

Atlas kevlar gloves at $10.76, last about a week I thought.

"My" gloves are kevlar and $9.00.
I really felt "my" gloves should be rated at a month, but if you and if others speak up and say, "no way!" than I am wrong.

Anyone else?
 
Xman, "your" gloves are my new favorite still. I think you sent me mine two or three weeks ago. Here is a look at the wear.



The color faded a little bit, and they they are holding up better than the ugly gloves or the atlas gloves. I like how easy they are to put on/take off. Perfect color, can wear them year round in this area. Very comfortable, a true tree climber's glove.



Had a big video day late last week, may have left one glove at jobsite, will double check all gear/truck, and txt sent to client to keep an eye out. Whoops. But I do still have the left one for sure, will start a side by side comparison with atlas glove to compare the wear.

Will order some of your gloves as soon as I get through last years taxes - whoops again.

I really agree with you on the latex gloves of any type. They end up looking like Bixler's pics in a day of climbing.

Nitril coated gloves similar in design to the Atlas gloves have just taken longer to wear through to the material.

The gloves will still work on the ground.

I'm going to put a second pair to the test and let you know if they fare better.

You got them 12-28-12. Today is 1-14-13. So that is 2.5 weeks.

I'd say that glove is pretty much done for nice climbing.

You wore them pretty much every day of climbing I hope?

Come to think of it, I guess I don't wear them every day. If I'm going to be running my crane remote control or either deal with turning a gopro camera on and off, I don't wear any gloves.

I had our gas drill chuck lock up the other day, i had a new pair of the gloves on, I powered the drill in reverse and the chuck just spun in the gloves and got really hot, I thought for sure the nitrile would be worn off, no damage at all.

When I stated one or two months in the biginning of this thread, i had asked my co-workers how long they thought they were lasting, before I posted that and with our concensus, we thought 1 to 2 months. Maybe it was so much better than other gloves it seemed like 1 to 2 months.

Any others?
 
I tried the Ninjas last year. Definitely thicker and warmer and longer lasting than average 'sticky' gloves but I found them very slippery when wet. Couldn't grip the rope, which is the main reason I like sticky gloves.
Are your gloves at least as grippy as the regular old Atlas type X?
I switch to leather gloves working on the ground to save wear. I find its the brush hauling that trashes the sticky gloves fastest.
 
Some of my groundies must think I'm nuts. I do the same as you you Frax, switch gloves to do ground work in order to extend the life of my climbing gloves.
 
Haha, me too guys, I'll switch up my gloves once on the ground. Frax, my first impression was that they had a bit more grip than the regular atlas gloves, a little softer almost.

XMAN, I would say they've had at least two weeks of hard climbing on them. Once I started wearing them I didn't stop. Very comfortable.
