Anyone tried theses spurs?

Hello, I'm new to the site! What a fine site too. I'm a climber out of Massachusetts. I climb for Valley Tree service, owned by Northern Tree. Anyways I've been climbing on a set of bucks with steel cushion wraps for the past few years. They now are worn out some, mostly the pads. After a few hours in them they get real uncomfortable. So it was time for an upgrade. I almost bought a set of geckos, aluminums. But bought these instead. The gaffes are stainless steel and the hooks are aluminum. The gaffes are in-between tree and pole lengths so like omni-gaffs I guess. There made in France I believe. Thought I'd share my ultra comfy hooks with you guys..

i owned a pair for 2 months before they fell apart on me. plastic cracked and the metal fell off. traded them back in for the t2's and super buck pad and paid the difference.

real light but not rugged. they won't last.

i thought they were the komets.

I've got them, I like them but I'm a smaller guy 5"8 160 I hear they are not good for taller climbers. Where in mass are you? I'm in new Salem if you want to try them out.

I'm right in amesbury mass. Work pretty much the north eastern parts of mass. I still have my bucks set up, I'm thinking of purchasing the new big Buck pads with the cinch strap like my cushion wraps, I've owned them since 07 and they haven't fell apart and stay tight. My good friend has the carbon fiber geckos and they are really nice, although I'm afriad I would destroy them on a day to day basis. He's not a full time climber. So they will last for him I'm sure. I'm pretty tall so finding spurs that will adjust to height for me is hard. I have my bucks maxed out as is. Most spurs only go to 18 3/4. That's the only thing that gets my attention on the gecko carbon. They come in 20" being the XLs. I have never tried the cadets either.

I have a pair and love them. Probably a little on the fragile side like oldirty says, but mine have not broken yet.

If you're banging around alot in cold weather I could see them breaking. The design is super comfortable, though. Also, I bought them before the price went through the roof. I paid like $260, now they are well over $300 last time I checked.

I have the first pair that came to the states, George (Shelter Tree, who imports these) let me keep them after some begging!

I fell in love from the first time I put them on. That was......4 maybe 5 years ago? Good quality, and super comfortable. The Velcro that holds the pad on had to be replaced, other than that great gear.

I do agree that tall climbers wont like these, I don't think there is enough adjustment in the shank.
