Anyone out there ever work in Alaska?

I am curious, has anyone here ever done work in Alaska, Anchorage specifically. I am looking at moving there, and am wondering what doing tree care there is like? Mostly what the trees are like in the ways of species, size, and such. Any feedback would be appreciated.

There are a good number of tree services in Anchorage afaik. I was there a long time ago. Aside from spruce and fir, I remember the trees to be kind of scrappy, not tall, not sure of the predominant species but I want to say cottonwood and silver maple kind of trees.

I was out there for a short time working for tall trees. If you in anchorage then you are far north and the trees are all medium at their biggest. Head towards south east alaska and they start getting big quick... around now is the time for the sun to be up for almost twenty hrs a day too and that will f with you,i promise... long days can lead to long hours. Black spruce, white birch, willow, alder, and some little cherry they call mayday's. Watch out for devil's club!!! Nasty. The moose are pissed up there and there are more bear inside city limits than outside .. think the bear know you not allow ed to fire guns inside the city?

Bottom line is that the trees are easy up there.
I forget the name of the tittie bar there but tell em i sent ya and don't let the air force lesbians muscle you off perverts row either cause they will if you let them.
