I might be able to bring the Ropetek Wraptor if Paul can free one up and ship it up to me by the time I leave:

Paul said he could get one to me, and unless something comes up I plan to be there.

Just a little update on our climb. We are now looking for a place to do our climb because the concord city parks are worried about liability. Chris Girard is working on a nice place in Manchester and should know if it is going to work out by the beginning of next week. Stay tuned!

We have been denied again! So if anyone can help with a place to do this rec climb that would be great. We have 9 days to nail down a location for this event!!

I am working on permission to climb the largest pines in New England. It would be cool too because they have not had an official height measurement in some time. Most estimates are between 140' and 150'. I will know if it is a go tomorrow.

Matt, are those the White Pines that are up in White lake State Park?

No. This is the deal to climb in the Big pines natural area in Tamworth. The deal is this,we have to be doing a strictly recreational climb and our group can't be larger than 8 to 10 people or I would have to apply for a special permit and get liability insurance for the day in the amount of $2,000,000.So how many of you guys are in to doing this? I am still in we just need to keep the numbers down.

Largest pines are out in Berkshire county in MA, there are hundredes of them 130 and 140+, dozens over 150, a handful over 160, and there are 2 or 3 that should've broke 170 this past growing season.

Neener neener. :-P

Myself, plus one other, are planning to attend.

Jeff L, Do you know where these trees are? I have been wanting to climb some with a friend of mine, who wants to get into some very large trees.

Hmmm,... it sounds like you'll get 8 - 10 local climbers without me driving 8 hours to show up for a single day event. I will probably be up that way sometime in late Spring to Summer. Let me know where these trees are and I'll check them out then. Hope you all have a great climb.

Yo Fellas...

If you need a place I might know someone who can give you the OK to climb in Franklin Park (Boston) some cool trees, beech, oak, white pine, nothing too huge though.

Re: Anyone in New England up for a winter rec clim

actual permission is such a hassle .... there is another one of those uncut old growth White Pine stands in Vermont as well , though I've never gone to check them out personally a friend of mine has .... the stand sounds pretty nice although I don't know the exact town .... it sounded remote with easy camping ..... maybe a renegade style climb is the ticket ..
