Anyone go jeepin\' ? Picture.

This weekend my friends and I went up into PA to go 4wheeling with our Jeeps at a place called Paragon. It's like 1500 acres of land. $35.00 a vehicle.

This is a picture of me trying to get some air at the end of the day.

1978 Jeep CJ5 w/AMC 360, T-18 trans, 44 rear (welded solid), 33" Super Swamper Boggers on forged Weld Wheels, 6pt cage, 4pt harnesses, and so on..... But this is just the beginning, this winter it gets totally redone better.

This picture was sent to me by an observer via e-mail, the file is kinda odd or something, I can't seem to edit it and make it smaller.

Re: Anyone go jeepin\' ? Picture.

What, were you their watching Mark or what? Yes, I did stall out in the mud, about 20 minutes before this shot. I do great in the mud as long as water doesn't get half way up on the engine and have the fan blow water over it. I've tried siliconing all my ignition system, but no success. Soon as it gets wet, it'll run awefull for 15-20 minutes. So yes, I did stall out in the mud with a fairly large crowd watching, then my battery was too dead to start it up again cause I had to remove the alternator earlier in the day due to a mounting bolt that broke. Just a lucky guess or what?

No one rolled any jeeps that day. Not even any body damage really.

I have rolled mine completly over once, and on it's side once. Just turned it back over, checked the fluids and continued. Cage and harnesses are sure worth it.

if i am not mistaken that is exactly what i did at the exact same spot but when the front end came down i shattered both front hubs.

Re: Anyone go jeepin\' ? Picture.

When I get back from Expo and my trip up to visit with the Vertical Pro guys I'm getting a '96 Bronco from a buddy at work. I don't want to be turned away from the pass on ski day. It would be a bummer to have bought a season ticket and not be able to get out on the pins. Like Pete Donzelli would say, Half the binding, twice the fun!

teti,
Cool. yeah, that pic proves you have lockers.

If you get air or bounce the frontend off the ground, you gotta lay off that throttle or your going to blow something when it bites again.

That pick was at that wide open play area. Where there was a mud hole down in that bottom, and a 10-12 foot little hill to get out, it was decent shape for jumping. First time I took it easy and just floated the front end (orig. picture). Next time, I jumped the whole jeep, (but pic turned out dark, so didn't post). Well I'll post now.

Here's what happens when you are a passenger and you stick your head out the door (to see if your buddies are following) and then the driver guns it.

Re: Anyone go jeepin\' ? Picture.

One of my brothers Jeeps (1of3). Just entering the mud hole. This is his 86 CJ7 with AMC 401 (oddly it dynoed at 401 HP). Fiberglass tub and one piece fiberglass front end. 39" swampers.

After the hole. He was the only one to make it through that one that day.

(this pic I scaled down finally.)

Re: Anyone go jeepin\' ? Picture.

T junkie,

nice.

Are those 33" BFG Allterrains?

I like the TJs. Never really liked the square light YJs.

my brother has a Rubicon TJ too. Crysler sure makes ugly and cheap instrument gages and the worst sound system I've ever heard though.

Re: Anyone go jeepin\' ? Picture.

when i put the man. hubs on i was supposed to use different spindle nuts but i did't so the gears only meshed 1/2 way. no big deal realy, just pulled them off and drove home. pro-comp hubs, free replacement. /forum/images/graemlins/applaudit.gif

Re: Anyone go jeepin\' ? Picture.

x,

Yeah 33"x12.5 BFG AT's They're a pretty decent on/off road tire. Sometimes i wish i had a little bit more aggressive set but, i'd hate them on road.

Nice pics, your buddy looks a little heated after getting splattered w/ mud. :) that's funny though.
