The younger people think electric vehicles are a new and upcoming thing. When I was much younger and living in Chicago, all the city busses were electric. I'm talking the 1950s and early 1960s.

I watched another youtube video of a 1901 electric, all original except the batteries, and the motor which was in line with the rear axle still worked like a champ, in fact it had regenerative charging. by pulling the "throttle" into the reverse polarity position, it would charge the batteries on the downhill or serving as the brakes.

Many of the buses in Bogota where electric trolleys with overhead arms and brushes (much like the slot cars) which touched the live wires above.

And they threw sparks at the wire junctions.
