Another Ddrt SRT hybrid system

I was supposed to go and do a little rec. climb today but it fell through so I just hung out and messed around with my ropes and this is what I came up with.

Re: Ddrt SRT hybrid system

The deal is you basically have two friction hitches on the same rope allowing you to tend either knot. You can anchor one side too a point in the tree and SRT at any point you would like. The last picture shows a predetermined amount of rope ready for the option of doing work on the back side of the tree without a major rope overhaul. One of the pics show a biner used in an anchor for SRT, don't set it up like that i was just in a rush to take pics before dark i would choke the limb or spar with a knot.

This is like what the french pine takedown video had. It has the ability to descent/ ascend on both at the same time, with a stationary rope. The guy demo'd the ability by spiralling on the tree on descent, tending both hitches together.

And I thought this was new... Oh well! I have been trying it a bit and it makes rope management easier in the tree.
