My Brother called me on Wed. He is Police Chief in Portsmouth. He called to see if I was hanging in any trees waiting for help. Luckly I wasn't, here's the story.
I don't have all the details, bu, a climber was stuck in a tree when he made a bad cut dropping a big limb and it came back on him breaking his leg. Evidently he couldn't get down and the fire department couldn't reach him from the street with the ladder truck so they had to get a city forestry truck to get him down.
I'm not able to get any more info. I wonder if he was climbing with just his flipline. I hate to admit this, but the guy who taught me to climb only used a single flip line and never tied in. I just couldn't get over being 80 feet up and disconnecting my flipline to pass around a limb. I thought I was just a puss.......then I got a clue and played the lotto! /forum/images/graemlins/imwitstupid.gif
