Another BFII bridge mod.

When I stripped my BFII down it still felt pretty heavy, and I realized the majority of the bulk came from the hardware (clevises and Ds). So I was thinking why not replace the clevises/shackles with some thimbles to cut the weight since I tied my bridge anyway.

The result is the harness is waaay lighter and one less component to worry about.

that extra cord doesn't get in your way? i would find it a little bother some to have a few extra inches just haning around to get in my way. What kind of attachment points do you use, like a mighty mouse pulley or just a biner?

Have you considered splicing the eyes? Not in that rope, but perhaps tenex or other hollow-braid. Lighter yet and less bulk; depending on the length of your bridge there might not be enough room for the bury, though. Also, with that bridge configuration, you could add rings to make front-D's similar to the treeMotion.

Are we not supposed to clip into the stock shackles on the BFII?

Thanks for the idea. I'm returning to a previous workplace on Monday. My BFII has been sitting in the closet there. I've been thinking about how I want to change it to a rope bridge and this will work. Good timing. I'll give my Glide a vacation. I think I'll try this on the Glide also. The cover on the bridge is wearing out, this is a much cheaper replacement.
