Angie's List?

Anyone have experience advertising with Angie's list? Worth the expense?

I am starting my company in a new location and will have to do some advertising to get word of mouth flowing and am considering Angie's List. I have good reviews but show up way down the list behind paying companies.

Any other recommended advertising strategies would be appreciated!

I'm interested in hearing what others have to say about this. I recently started a forum on Home Advisor. I haven't committed to it but I'm leaning in that direction. Thanks for bringing this topic up.

The hardest thing about those sites, as well as thumbtack, is they want a bid site unseen.

Best results I've had is giving a starting price and being VERY CLEAR that it changes based on size, access, hazards, and cleanup.

Also, I explain our qualifications, we are insured, and licensed.

If you say, for example, that we start at $250, and don't explain how price increases, then people think their job will be $250.
