We had a new guy flop a spar directly into another trees codominant stems, and balance mid air such as that.

My boss at a horse logging operation once felled a tree leaning against a standing oak storm-damaged spar. It lifted the butt and balanced perfectly on the spar. If only there were smart phones then for a photo.

Yea, this was us. We kept cutting branches expecting this log to shift and flop down, but it just kept balancing. No small limb either, it was 30" at the split end tapering to no less than 18" at the other end.

River Birch have some tough fibers! This was from a while ago, but I always have found it enjoyable how these birches hold on... It made for some really nice bucking.

We told the new guy to grab the saw and pick a branch to cut, but for some reason he grabbed a couple of poles and pushed it over
