All Stop Whistle

I have looked with no luck...Anyone know where I can purchase some?I thought I saw someone on here using one in a video at one of the crane workshops...The retractable kind that attach to the back of a hard hat...Thanks

Are you looking for a mouth blow whistle ?

Or do you need an air-horn-type-sound that can be heard over the noise of a crane motor, chipper, etc. ?

I carry a "Fox40 Classic" (mouth blown) on a retractable cord on the back of my helmet.

I "tested" several whistles at a distance of ~100 ft before choosing this one.

My retractable cord is from a easily modified Walmart Key Chain ........... $~1.95.

Fox 40 whistles are commonly used for that. search carefully on the web adn you can get them for as little as $4 each. A lot cheaper than some of our industry vendors are charging.

As for the retractor those you can also look for on line. They are commonly called ?????? retractors where the ????? can be Badge, ID, Lighter, Name Tag. you can also try substituting "retractors" for leash, lanyard, retractable.

We got a couple on Ebay for under $2 each.

When the ISA conference was in Minneapolis I was on my last
Walk through of the trade show. One of the vendors had the Card retainers as a gimme. I asked if I could have a couple withou having any idea what I might use them for . They went into my desk drawers until one day I had a head slap

I use a piece of double face tape to hold the retainer to the back of my helmet. Not on the side where it might get scraped off.

Fox 40 will penetrate the noise bubble around a chipper!

That is an awesome idea! but it can be better- instead of twin stick tape that wimps out over time and fails in the summer heat, how about the plastic version of velcro that comes with an Ez-Pass tag? I found both a lanyard and Ez-Pass stuff in the desk draw! putting it on my helmet and testing begins tomorrow. will let you know how it works.
