ALC Parts and Service

I am looking into purchasing a rear mount bucket truck and have come across a few short bed International trucks with an aerial lift of Connecticut boom. I've read that they are great booms but I'm wondering about parts and service now that they are out-of-business. Thanks for any advice on parts and service for this lift.

Wasn't there an issue with some of the knuckles failing on some of there booms. I thought that was the demise of the company. I am not saying stay away form them. If thats true, I would find out which booms those were and stay away from those models. I used an ALC boom for a few years and it was a great boom. Had no issues at all when I was using it. Just grease it!!

Thanks for the link to Brian's parts and service. There is a warning section on the site that states the year and model that had a link failure and another model that had used the wrong cable.

Just call Jeff at East Coast Crane and Aerial Lift, he's got you covered. Was the head guy for road service at ALC. He could work on an ALC blindfolded.

Oh, okay so your aware of it. Just wanted to make sure. They are good machines with just a few bad lemons out there, thats all.

Just the 65', which weren't very common. You either need to upgrade the knuckle, or have the upper boom cut down to make it a 62', if my memory is correct.
No, not the reason for the downfall. From what I heard, once Eddie died, his daughter didn't really want the business, so just wrung as much money out of it as she could (which her boyfriend put up his nose) and then closed the doors. We knew they were headed that way when all the really good guys who'd been there for years started being let go and replaced with cheaper new guys.
