Akimbo for sale. 1 of the 50 made by rock exotica

Hey bud...I was trolling a bit....I get a kick outta shit like this. Was stoking the fire a bit....not sabotaging your sale. Hope you get it sold so you can sort your emergency out. Carry on nicely. Welcome to the buzz.

Respect goes both ways man. No one thought before accusing me of doing something illegal or lowballing me. Or telling me that it wasnt produced by RE or accusing me of price gouging. Not one has sold for under 500, one person paid 700 this spring, and they are made by RE and a little research on their end before calling me out left and right would have proved that. I apologized on my part for the way my message may have come off.
I agree it should go both ways, when earned. I always had a hard time with my father telling me you don't get respect until you earn it, until I realized what respect means(it may help you to look it up, I just didn't understand what respect was). Regardless of whether respect has been earned folks should be kind and treat others as they want to be treated.
I never said I agreed with any of those statements. But as I've already said in so many words, I will say in another way, answering them calmly with the respect that you yourself expect may have gotten you better results.

Your right 100%

The aluminum parts of the GoFundMe version were a batch made by RE just so that Jaime could get them sent out... he provided the stainless steel parts and assembled them all. There are no ultra-secret, hidden dangers to the device that nobody knows about, or there would be a big pile of bodies under all the trees we've climbed with the Akimbo. It's a great multicender that most climbers are probably going to love. RE has a whole pile of new projects that everyone is waiting to see, and I am pretty sure that all the testing and production tooling and spreading their time out on multiple projects is responsible for the delays.

I don't recall them ever PROMISING to release these projects on any specific date. I believe they have given "projected release date" info on occasion, which really isn't the same thing, at all. As anyone who is married can tell you... never promise to get anything done on a specific day, or you'll pay dearly if you miss the deadline by more than four seconds.

Hi there Jeff , Just to let you know I have one of the prototypes and the screw that holds the neck tether in place is not loctighed in place and has come undone on mine ( 100 plus feet up ) the whole unit collapsed and spat the rope out if i had not checked it before I swung to the next tree I guarantee I would not be here to write this today.

Please ensure you check this device daily prior to use :)

Yeah you got any takers? Sadly I too will wait (forever???) for the new RE production version. I've already spent my August budget replacing ropes and whatnot, and it's still July! I'm interested to see what you get for it, maybe Ebay would be a better option for this sale but please post a link here if you go that route. Unless Chris already got it lol.

I've learned it takes some thick skin to handle the replies you don't expect to get. Very difficult to have a meaningful conversation with hundreds of weird individuals all hiding in their remote secret lairs jamming away on some keyboard spewing out whatever comes to mind. Might as well be using Morse code stop A series of short and long clicks to convey meaning stop How hard would that be? stop
... - - - ... over

Whoa dude! There you go again? Twist one up bro have a couple puffs, whatever you need to do to RELAX a little. It’s only money... I said I’d give ya 350 bucks for it. Never called you a crook! Was just concerned you may be selling a prototype that hasn’t been released to the general public for sale yet. Mellow bro. Sall guuud

Way I see it, any time you buy something and use it, then manage to sell it for close to what ya paid for it ? Man that’s a fucken bonus! Put on a happy face !

Can you explain or demonstrate how/why that failure would cause the device to spit the rope?

Hi there Flex

The Akimbo is made up of a number of aluminum plates that are held in place by M5 flat head bolts and M5 nuts ( This is on my model others may very ) these bolts are threaded into these plates and a "lock" nut is placed on the opposite side ( please note these needs to be a small mount of play in these bolts to allow free movement of the plates ) These "locking"nuts are M5 nylock nuts but are NOT loctite in place and have become very very lose.

The tether Bow shackle is also an M5 thread and is a key component to the Akimbos function as it holds both the left and right plates together this ONE bolt keeps the whole thing from splitting apart and there for your rope detaching form the unit as the two half's then work independently which is not good when you want to keep your line sandwiched between the two.

So in conclusion, Please -Please check the retaining bolts ( I have Replaced and will every 3 / 6 months ) Loctite the nuts in place , and check as well as loctite the bow shackle this small bolt holds it all together and will work its way lose - these are prototypes and should be seen as such and old be used by senior arborists these are not toys, and can and may kill some one there not to be traded and sold to guy/girls who just what to have the new unseen bit of gear I believe RE should in all conscious have a buy back of the original units, (at a far price or replace with the new one) as these units are out there and its there reputation on the line - But our lives

Just my view - and sorry for stealing this thread bro

I really wanted it. Did you see my PM response to you??
I've had so many things sold out from under me when all the details were already worked out. As disappointing as it can be I've learned it was most likely someone looking out for me. Sometimes we get to see that played out other times not so much, but I still have to trust it's what's best.
Hope you get one soon.
