You came here with zero rep and called everyone uneducated fools. I'd say if you didn't want problems then at least an apology would be in order. By the way some of the most educated arborists in the world hang here. Say sorry and stick around some of that might rub off on you.

The 1st batch of the Kickstarter prototypes are not made by RE, as far I as know. Cuttersclimbers.com showcased the new Akimbo and it'll no doubt be a welcomed addition to the multicending community, but it's price point will also need to keep up with the competition.

The aluminum parts of the GoFundMe version were a batch made by RE just so that Jaime could get them sent out... he provided the stainless steel parts and assembled them all. There are no ultra-secret, hidden dangers to the device that nobody knows about, or there would be a big pile of bodies under all the trees we've climbed with the Akimbo. It's a great multicender that most climbers are probably going to love. RE has a whole pile of new projects that everyone is waiting to see, and I am pretty sure that all the testing and production tooling and spreading their time out on multiple projects is responsible for the delays.

I don't recall them ever PROMISING to release these projects on any specific date. I believe they have given "projected release date" info on occasion, which really isn't the same thing, at all. As anyone who is married can tell you... never promise to get anything done on a specific day, or you'll pay dearly if you miss the deadline by more than four seconds.

I see now who and why you were saying sorry to, it's much easier to follow the flow of a conversation if you reply directly to the individual/post.

As evo was saying(on the first page), little sugar goes a long way. Maybe the OP could have responded differently, and maybe he would have gotten a different response. I've heard many say think before you make the cut, what will happen; how about think before you make the post, what will happen, there's a preview button .

Yeah you got any takers? Sadly I too will wait (forever???) for the new RE production version. I've already spent my August budget replacing ropes and whatnot, and it's still July! I'm interested to see what you get for it, maybe Ebay would be a better option for this sale but please post a link here if you go that route. Unless Chris already got it lol.

I've learned it takes some thick skin to handle the replies you don't expect to get. Very difficult to have a meaningful conversation with hundreds of weird individuals all hiding in their remote secret lairs jamming away on some keyboard spewing out whatever comes to mind. Might as well be using Morse code stop A series of short and long clicks to convey meaning stop How hard would that be? stop

It will be interesting to see what the RE price point will end up being. I personally love the Akimbo, I also know a few guys who don't find it to be all that. I got 2 of them, 1 I climb on and 1 that has been lent out to several people since I owned it. Some love it, some not so much.

You are not alone with that Levi. I still switch to the BDB depending on the job.

I bet the akimbo is really great but I have no complaints with the bdb. If all I did was climb all the time like I used to I'd probably be more into trying new things but I haven't tried new gear in a few years, just stagnating.

Respect goes both ways man. No one thought before accusing me of doing something illegal or lowballing me. Or telling me that it wasnt produced by RE or accusing me of price gouging. Not one has sold for under 500, one person paid 700 this spring, and they are made by RE and a little research on their end before calling me out left and right would have proved that. I apologized on my part for the way my message may have come off.

I am a very mellow person also man. I didnt mean to come off condescending. And i think im asking a pretty fair price. The person who sold me this one paid 300 in the gofundme and charged me 600! I paid 6 and am asking 525 and im in the middle of a bad time and need the money. I will get my asking price or a fair trade and if not then ill gladly hold on to this piece of history amd figure out my problems some other way

Ive barely had this akimbo for a week i literally just got it on thursday and im honestly upset to have to let it go and i am taking a loss on it its not like i paid 600, have had it for months climbing on it, and then letting it go for almost what i paid.
