Aerial lift work lights

Looking for info on work lights for aerial lifts for emergency storm work. What do you use/like recommend. Any info is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I've seen lifts with 12v spot lights wired onto the buckets. Adding in a power wire negates any electrical separation.

There are some really super bright 12 volt LED spotlights on the market. Stashing a small trolling motor battery in the bucket and having one charged could work.

Can't put lights in the bucket as stated to compromise the dielectric testing of the boom and bucket.

Here at the local utility the spots are wired into the cab or work platform and the linemen use lights on their hardhats similar to the Petzl also noted previously.

Good luck with this. If you're doing storm work at night please take the time to locate the overhead power lines as they can be hard to spot in vegetation.

Thanks for the input Bigwood and H. I am aware of the regs re running conductors up a boom. Only a fool would do that, but I suppose there is one out there somewhere. I am looking for something that will be located on the truck but illuminate the elevated work area as much as possible. I was out with our crews a week or so ago and was surprised at what they were working with, basically the petzl hard hat lights. Not enough! I like the looks of the plug in GoLights and have sent an info request. Thanks again for the info
