Adjustable Rope Bridge

I ordered another Roll N Lock today for a second saddle. I also mostly use the adjustable bridge to set it short for ascents and a 'normal' length in the canopy. I love the speed of switching back and forth and don't hesitate to shorten it up to climb a few limbs higher while maintaining a minimal sit back/fall distance.

Petzl had a pretty sweet adjustable bridge they had on display at the itcc, attached to the open ring, basically looked like an atc device, they said it should be rolling out at the beginning of the year.

Thanks you for this information. The new bridge is already listed at some german shops and is was promissed for mid of January for about 65 Euro :foto:

For all Sequoia owners which are able to organize a longer rope with sewn eyes (that was my issue)...the RollNLock also fits to the Ring Open and maybe there is no reason to wait for Petzl:

Is this fun, reasonable, both, or neither? Planning to fly it for a laurel oak removal early this week... the new bridge is slick as snot but the prussik is broken in. Thinking to try this and maybe get a roll n lock later.

The only downfall to the prussik is when your bridge hardware (ring, swivel, pulley...) tends it and your bridge extends...

This is compact and seems to function as intended. I'm going to rec climb tomorrow.

That would be exciting. I wonder if that would be incidental or a regular event.

When I was working through lanyard adjusters I made a similar setup. I used New England Tech Cord since it's such a small diameter. I spent time rolling out all of the slack to make it
As short as possible.

It works for a lanyard

I would NEVER use it on a bridge!!! To likely to have the ring bump it and slide

Yeah, I was in an experimental (emphasis on mental) mood that night. I never actually tried that setup - briefly (and without tangible benefit) used a shackle to double the lanyard all the way back to the bat rigging plate. Then, I just cut the rope short because, let's face it, the rope is cheap and I've got a while before I'll be buying the roll n lock.

Frank, that is absolutely brilliant! Just don't let RE get ahold of it, we'll all be close to death before it hits the market! Still waiting on the Akimbo & RopeRunner 2 to be available! faceplant:::[emoji17]
