a true craftsman

Man.... I can almost see myself completing the steps to create tools like these.... there are a few steps that I don't yet understand....and I know enough to know that if I went out the the shop and started tonight!..... it'd be 2 years before I turned out a product that would PALE in comparison to these works of art!!!!!!
Much respect.....

Thanks for the link...
Reminds me of how much we've lost in this rush for digital information....

And also reminds me of the best days spent in my shop creating... sun streaming in the windows...crisp outside.. toasty by the woodstove inside... engrossed in creating an interface of steel and wood.... time ticking by.. meditating.. in the moment....

This is what life is all about!

Yours in trees,
Mark

Love it! Music was great too...Bon Iver...just took in a concert of theirs in Providence. 9 piece band, 2 drummers, amazing. I live a few miles from a blacksmith. I think I'll visit his shop with a new respect. Great video.

Bad to the bone. Gave me goosebumps watching that. I'll bet that axe would out live and out chop most commercial axes by many years. True personalized craftsmanship. Thanks for that video, truly awe inspiring for sure.

That was totally relaxing. It is a gift from God our hands. Its great we get to use them all the time especially in our industry.

Great Video, I too want to learn some blacksmith.

Seriously good stuff, thanks for posting. It reminded me of the vid Gerry B made of the guy making eyes in heavy wire rope, not as artsy a presentation but features amazing heavy duty handmade craftsmanship.

That was enjoyable to see. Looks like he inserted a chunk of high carbon steel in the cutting end and then fashioned and quenched it to make it hold an edge better. The mirror finish honing was almost too nice to actually use!
