A good day to stay alive

Testosterone in a cream. WTF. You must be also using tons of viagra. Just grow old gracefully guy. I am 56 and still wake up at full attention every morning. I read some sad things sometimes....lordy.
You're so proud of how your dick works, you post it on tree forum...... and you want to talk shit and give me advice... HAHAHAHA

You're clueless....
Roid rage! Might want to ease up on the test bro..

Just fucking with you Daniel. Low t can have profoundly negative effects on our quality of life as we age and low dose TRT can be a real game changer for many. If its working for ya, roll with it...

Damn 3 pages, and no steam left. No lessons learned, awe well. The insanity in this fallen world lives on...... proceed with caution.....

These words are simply a reflection of your own behavior on this forum.
a truck is a tool... a skid loader is a tool.. you either know how to use the tool safely and efficiently or you don't. Once you do know, then you can ignore the perspective of people that don't... Unfortunately, the operator/driver that I worked most of my career with is out of the game. I trusted that man with my life repeatedly. He understood exactly what he was doing and how to execute a plan. After he left due to illness, I realized just how much his input made a difference. I can't operate at the same level without him. I work around the lack of a trusted operator now, by backing off many technical cuts that require coordinated team work. And once the tree is down, I have to hop in the loader.

If you've never worked with an driver that you would trust your life with or don't have the falling skills to even bother attempting cuts that require coordinated teamwork between a faller and an operator, then you wouldn't know. It's only people that don't know that say stupid shit like "pulling with a pick up truck is a recipe for disaster"....

So do you know or don't you?

The difference between me and everyone else on this thread, with the possible exception of Rico, is that I have the videos to back up what I say. I can think of two videos right off that are prime examples of using a pick up truck to fall trees and throw tops that no one else here would even think of attempting, and a third that few if any would... Video doesn't lie. It's not a popularity contest. It simply shows what a man can do... and I haven't seen any video from any of you (with the exception of Rico and Grahame) that comes close. You talk shit because you ain't shit!

If you have the skillset and just don't make videos then please don't take it personally.

I won’t take it personally…

Yes, I’ve worked with operators I’ve trusted with my life.

Yes, I’ve made cuts in perfect sync with those operators.

And yes, I’ve used trucks in technical scenarios.

However, the truck was always treated as an unknown, and I mitigated my reliance on its success as much as possible.

I do that by using a cripple and pull, so I'm no where near the cut while the truck does the pulling

He says as he is cutting, and the vehicle is pulling.
It just gets deeper and deeper. But you no doubt have an excuse for that one too.

This is like a comedy... more clueless critics.... WTF do you know about falling trees? No excused here.. just explanations. I've been explaining shit I do everyday to the "experts" here and elsewhere for over 10 years.

The video you posted shows a pull line powered by the chipper winch. That's one of my least favorite methods. I prefer the skid steer in most situations. When I want to throw a top or don't have a loader on site, I'll use a pick up truck. The pick up can generate more speed to generate forward momentum in the top.
Daniel

In this connotation what do you mean by ‘cripple’
Cripple refers to completing the falling cut in a way that will not allow the tree to move until the full force of the pull line engages. That generally means not pulling by hand, even with MA. Leave a fat hinge or a step cut and get out of there before calling for the pull or in many cases getting in the truck and doing the driving too.

IN this one I made the cut and drove the truck

IN this one you wouldn't want to be anywhere near the tree when it started moving. I cut and left before calling for the truck to pull.

IN this one, I stayed a the cut to keep cutting as the truck was moving. Treeslayer drove the truck.

This one shows cripple and pull from the hooks

This is cripple and pull from the bucket

This is a nasty dead oak that I wanted to be nowhere near when it started moving:

What the fuck do I know about felling trees you ask? Been doing it a hell of a lot longer than you. So take your foul mouth and shove it up your stupid newbe ass. You are just a poser, try to come across as a know it all. It isn't selling.
You're dangerous and foolish. So dry up and blow away. You can explain all you want, like you are some great expert, but what I see is some jerk I wouldn't hire. Try looking at who you are calling a clueless critic before you open that stupid mouth.
