85 ton Palfinger k-boom for sale

The ratings are different with regards to the tons so no..Kbooms are rated in ton/meters. My 50 t/m being same physical size as a 30t stick has a better chart..at the further distances and lower boom angles.

dave, what i think is happening is that the k-boom manufacturers are getting together an organization to standardize the rating system for all k-booms. much the same as the PCSA (power crane and shovel assoc) did about 40 years ago for domestically produced cranes. however it is still confusing to compare k-boom ratings in ton meters vs stick boom ratings without actually comparing capacities at differing radius and heights. in many cases the k-booms have an advantage because they require less boom to get to a given point because of the up and over configuration than the straight line needs of a stick boom. the reduced tare weight of boom needed adds to the lifting capacity on any given chaissis they are mounted on, and the static weight requirements of the truck are correspondingly less.

Length around 38-40 ft . I can ask them to tape measure if u need more definate.

Weight, not known yet, would need to drive to scales to be sure.

Educated guess on weight is 47, 000 lbs.

Yes, it was set up to haul solid concrete foundation walls.

47 k???? Thats it? I really think thats way low... im a stick boom guy but pushers and tags are heavy...so are tandem trucks and knucklebooms. I was told the 60 ton effer on tci's with one pusher was around 52k. Palfinger kbooms that much lighter????

I would like to spend time on this post, but too many deadlines right now, probably won't spend time on the buzz until tcia expo is over.

But I wanted to tell the truck weight, it was weighed and the weight is 61480.

After your post crane guy, I thought, yeah, my truck is 41,000lbs (but does have a hooklift system too), so I was thinking your 52k was probably right. Looks like it was more than that.

Im not sure what TCI"s truck weighs but mine weighed 52k when I took delivery. I have a very heavy dump box with 10 guage steel inside the body and 12 guage steel on the outside with box tubing inside and chanel iron bsae.Plus the dump hoist. I also have a steel cab protector. I don't think its the crane that adds all the weight.

We use a 30t stick with 124' of boom, weighs 60k, so your truck in nicely light I would say.

David and Cory, what model effer cranes are you running and with what setup (6/4??)
