2016 TCC List / Dates

I have a question. I am not sure if this is the right thread to ask it, but here goes anyway. Now that there is so much interest in SRT (SRS) climbing in the arborist community, has there been any discussion about adding a new SRS speed climbing event to the competitions? I think it would be really fun to do a timed event to ascend 500 m or something like that. They do these kinds of events at caving competitions. It would be easy to set up and easy to judge. If it was an open event where any non-motorized method was allowed this might definitely lead to some new innovations in SRS methods.

This is the correct Forum "Climbing Competitions"; but not the correct Thread.
Suggest starting a new Thread.

The ITCC tried a demo "open ascent" climb a few years ago.
There were lots of problems, and lots of potential saftey issues.
It has not been tried at ITCC again.
My guess is that it will eventually be back.

Jambo 1 & 2, both had a "fun" 100 ft. open ascent event.
Wraptor, Beau Nagan foot locked a single line, etc !
