2016 srtwp redirects

Once you get your hands on bdb your redirects may change to useing less hardware with more natural redirecting ,due to the fact how fast and easy the bone comes off rope and back on.With nothing to drop. More often I just toss a night over a crotch creating a pony tail if I know I'm only useing the redi for a short time. If I need more line than the pony can offer I'll put my whole line through redi and have a biner on my tail that I clip on the line on side I want to retrieve back to. Easy and effective. I like it as well because it can be done away from the redirect .Or you don't have to be right there at the spot to achieve the redi.. Can be set and retrieved remotely

@Treetopflyer is a "pony tail redirect" similar to the method of redirecting a DdRT system by tying a stopper knot below the system, pulling the redirected tail to move the system around an obstacle instead of climbing up and over it?

You have any links (videos/literature) to help illustrate this method/application?

Awesome trick with the Bone (especially having 2 of them!) is to reach a natural redirect, lanyard in, and tie an Alpine Butterfly into the line above the Bone. Pull up the fall of line until the bitter end and pass the bitter end over the redirect from outside to inside and tie it into the Butterfly. Switch the Bone to the fall side (or put the second one there instead), and climb in the redirected portion. With 2 Bones, it creates a DSRT system with just one line. You can also create the same scenario with a thimble prusik and carabiner if there's an eye splice on your tail.

My mind is bent by your brilliant musings! Rough diagram? Or I'll come back to this and wait for the aha! moment.

Ok ok I think I get what you are talkin' bout willis.
You have any pictures or video of this technique?
I like how minimalist it sounds

Yeah Wyatt. Old tried and true. I could try to putt something together. It's just a bight not a night over a suitable Union .. If neccasary I will clip tail in a biner on my hip so I don't lose it.

With SRWP, the rope has no directional preference. I think that's the beauty. You can tie off absolutely anywhere midline, anywhere to the tree, cut the rope and tie it back together, it's just endless...all because of Morgan, Gordon, Kevin, and now Jamie.

My previous post is basically holding true to this principle. I'll see if I can put together a video, but expect a photo perhaps sooner. In the mean time, go over it piece by piece and I'm sure you'll all get it. :)

Yeah it's pretty slick. I got it at Neptune Mountaineering in Boulder, they have a huge selection of hardware. It's fun to go in and think about what one might be able to apply to tree work. This popped out at me as something that might actually be practical.

As I said, it's a canyoneering tool. I watched some canyoneering vids and it looked like they might get some good use out of a BDB, rope runner or the like.

That's really slick!
