2016 Ford F550 4x4 Diesel w/Southco Chipper Body / Price Reduced to $48k or best offer.

Right...but the link @RyanCafferky posted from CA said any trailer over 10,001. In Ohio (and I think most states) that only applies if combination goes over 26K. May be poor wording from wherever the link was copied.

It’s federal so all states
States can choose to be MORE restrictive (ie: requiring ALL 10,001lb trailers to have CDL driver regardless of total combined GVWR), but cannot have more lax restrictions (for example saying an 11,000 trailer never needs a CDL).

(well, technically, they could be less restrictive by saying those vehicles could only operate on roads not receiving federal funding....which I guess that is the case because that would be private roads... or the state could refuse federal funding and not have to enforce the same rules, but obviously they cannot afford that)

I'm pretty sure the law here says whichever is more restrictive, provincial and federal. So a province can have more restrictive laws and they would be enforced within that province.

Probably the same for the US as we seem to just copy the US.

That's exactly what it is in the US. Most just default to the federal guidelines. However, California does a lot of things their own way.

I got my Class A working for the City of Portland Urban Forestry division. I still have it even though I don't drive anything large anymore. The instructors, test proctors, supervisors, and operators told me that anything driven for commerce towing a trailer rated over 10k is Class A territory. Personally owned/used equipment might leave space for a looser interpretation, irrelevant if your business name is on the rig. Doesn't matter if it is a pickup or dump truck. The Class B clears you for vehicle weights over 26k, not trailer weights though.

Enforcement varies widely here Oregon though. I know plenty of contractors running without CDLs towing blatantly heavy trailers behind pickups and 1-ton trucks in my area, but they won't leave our county because they know they'll get popped. I would rather stay way under the thresholds and operate a smaller setup.

All that said, that is a sweet truck and I hope you sell it soon.

From my experience, the people too. Me and my wife have talked about it, but we are really sissies about the cold. I grew up in South Florida and she in Santa Cruz, both within walking distance of the beach.
You're a stone's throw away from water at any given moment here! Haha. It gets warm here, like 3 days a year we have mid nineties. Lol. Yeah I get it. Texas is nice too. Good food and warmer. My sis is in Houston.
