Not a fantastic picture, but definitely sums up my year. (And I actually did take it!)

this was a few weeks ago.

I don't think I've ever seen sprouts like this on a beech. Some mechanical damage to trunk root flare and spouts popped up along the callous ridge.

Stuff that isn't seen often is really cool for me to witness.

squad 143 , it looked like you had removed a center most lead, before working on the outside of the tree?

The pic makes it look like you had to work harder than nec , due to no center tie in
Wow, sorry, but I missed your post.
Looks that way, but I'm actually a little below (almost level) my tip redirect through the crotch.
The top of this tree was quite brittle and we bombed most of it on the ground.
The one limb I'm climbing on had to get rigged down because it was over some wires beside the driveway.
Here is the tree mid-removal (had to jump in the truck to warm up)

haystack.webp yellerbirch.webp wolfjaw.webp gothics.webp Amazing pics everyone! you guys rock. I don't have anything that even compares, but here are some that show my local scenery. January, 2014 two day job at a remote camp. Never got above zero. luckily the caretaker had a wood-stove going in his bunk room and even cooked us hamburgers for lunch!
