1st real job for the knuckle boom.

It was a utility line truck for the first 10,000 MI. So it was used to set poles and Transformers. U take the yellow roller and mount it on the winch. Pulls wire.. I'll use it for my tree work.

I would look at the load chart. you may have to pin the jib to keep the cylinders from pulling out on heavier picks or not position it vertical... You should invest in a hard hat and safety glasses as well:)

We Always wear hard hats in operations. Job was done sat. I came back for the big wood with the saw mill guys on Monday. Yea they are more likely doing this for fun. They are retired and mill wood as a hobby..

Allmark would know better than me but if you raise the fly jib up all of the way the hook should be accessible behind the fly jib knuckle , you should get in the habit of calculating log weights and not fall back on the " if the computer says its ok " relying on the computer is a sure way of wearing out your crane fast Because you are always picking at 100% capacity ! What happens if you cut a piece free and the crane can't lift it ? You can't cut a piece off to make it lighter ! OH but the computer said. All Kboom cranes have load charts for the outer boom and the fly jib.

My last post was for lumberjack and for you also Islandedge . What lumberjack did by retracting his stabilizers and driving with a load on the crane is a sure way of tipping your crane , the crane manufacturer would not stand behind you if an accident did occur. Every load chart lists the weight that extension can lift .

do you have a 360 degree chart? I usually pick over the front to get more reach with the cab mount.

I do but its greatly reduced do to programming. Tony said they'd reprogram for full lift off the front if i add 4k to the rear of the truck or adding a front stabilizer
