1/2 inch Tenex on 1/2 rope for AFS?

do you think 1/2 tenex is too big for a prussic on a 1/2 arbor master AFS? im having wesspur splice me a 10 footer. scared to use tech cord in the prussic after hearing on here about recent failures so i said to dave, i want arormaster bigfoot,1/2" tenex for the prussic and green DMM rings, 40mm and 28mm. does the 1/2 tenex grab well on a ordage of the same diameter? i was told to use something at least 2 mm smaller then the main rope.

You'll be happier with 3/8's" Tenex Tec.

Don't do 1/2" tenex. 3/8" will grab much better and have more
than enough strength for what you're doing.

I agree, if you have it spliced with a crossover your final diameter will be close to half inch anyway.

thanks for the input! the AFS has been made and is shipped. dave at wesspur spliced the DMM rings and left enough room for me to tie an 8 coil prussik which im going to use. he had the same thing to say about a 6 coil distorting and slidding to easily. ill post pics when i get it
