Yeah Classic, it took me about a week just to learn the software and probably another week just to fine tune the video. It was a lot of stressful evenings but it was rewarding when it was finally finished. I have about 4 years of video I want to go over, dating back from when I worked with you...
I also had a lot of trouble finding music that didn't breach Youtube's copyright policy.
It's very disheartening when you put so much work into finding music that works with your video and Youtube mutes it, or makes you change it.
I got Sony Vegas Pro over the holidays and thought I'd put up a job we did from October. Editing video is a lot harder, and time consuming then I could ever have imagined.
Yeah I've contacted Treestuff, just waiting on a response.
I do remember it having some lumpiness within the first month, but it always smoothed out under load. Now I have no issues with it. I took the lumpiness for perhaps the interior strands not all running totally parallel with each other...
I'm looking for a rope distributor that sells Donaghys 12mm NRG static line. I bought some from Treestuff about a year ago, but they don't seem to be selling it as of lately. It's been my favorite rope to use with the Rope Runner and I can't find a company selling it outside of Australia. I was...
I like the Metolius haul bags so much I have 3, all in different sizes. I've put them through a lot of punishment over the years and they've held up very well. They're the only bag you'll ever need.
I bought the Petzl throwball "cube" and have never been more disappointed. Since day 1 the plastic rods would poke through and I am constantly doing maintenance on them. I finally became so frustrated with the constant maintenance I broke down and bought the Falteimer cube and have never looked...
What I would do if I know I'm only going to be using my redirect for a short period, is send a bight through the redirect with enough rope to perform the needed task. The remaining tail of my rope is on the opposite side of the crotch with enough tail that you can reach it from a safe position...
If you're handy you can do as I did and convert the micro mouse pulley that I wasn't using into a chest roller. I've only used it once and it worked well. It beats dropping over $100 on a pulley that essentially holds you tight to the rope.
All together this might cost $50.
Were the trees previously infected by EAB? Which municipalities are you talking about? Are these ash trees that were damaged due to the ice storm?
I have noticed a lot of city owned ash trees falling apart in North York due to the ice storm. But I have no idea if they were injected or not.
I...
I just bought this pulley specifically for the same setup as Ocean explained. I was using a Pinto and biner, connecting to a sling. But didn't like the risk of cross loading the biner.
The Omni block solved the problem and opened up the possibilities of many other rigging applications.
Defiantly...
I've never used true blue but I'm sure tenex or any other tech cord would work just fine as a prussic.
Personally I would lean more to using a low stretch stable braid for most of the rigging applications you would want to be using this pulley for. Using true blue I'd imagine you would be...
I own one and if I had the chance to be on the ground more often it would definitely get more use.
I find it useful for pre-tensioning loads and ginning moderate sized limbs and trees. You'll be surprised at the pulling advantage gained by just adding this pulley into the system.
If you need to...
I had a chance to try this technique out today on some storm damaged willows. It worked amazingly and saved a lots of time and headaches. It was so simple I regret not learning about it earlier.
I mainly used it to secure hanging limbs, which I whittled away at and made them a manageable size...
I saw a pic of the front yard after the accident. It looked like a smaller outfit. Late 90's 1 ton with a chip box. No name on the truck that I could see either.
No one I've talked to knows much about it besides what's been in the news.
The Pinto is most often my go to pulley for anything from redirects to light rigging. Usually with an endless loop or a dead eye sling connected with a biner depending on the application.
