Well, that's as close to zero sit-back in a Multicender that I have seen yet. Thanks for posting that Gordan.
I think Reg's device also has zero sit-back.
So, if the upper parts work as a RopeWrench, in theory when the Blackbird engages on rope during ascending and then stopping, there should be some sit-back, like with the RW, right? This doesn't appear to be the case from what I can find and see in the videos.
As far as I know (correct me if I...
Well, 7 years later and ART definitely got on board with SRT/SRS, only they didn't call it the new BlackBerry, but the BlackBird! Ha, ha.
Though Hubert wasn't a fan of SRT/SRS, I wish that he was still around to see what direction his company has gone. I'm sure that he would be proud.
I haven't climbed on Arborplex since the 1990's and never will again. Yes, it's great for natural crotch rigging, but honestly, I can't see any professional arborist, let alone someone who uses SRT/SRS Multicenders ever consider using it anymore for climbing. There are just better ropes out there.

Also, there's a hell of a lot of good info in this thread from the Legends out there, that we may not have heard from lately.
I remember this post from way back.
Bump for this ancient thread that some of our younger members (who weren't even born), may not know about.
Even though the drop tests weren't trying to prove which is better, a GRCS or Hobbs Lowering Device, it is still very interesting to watch.
Mark makes an interesting comment about the...
My good friend and mentor Don Blair is indeed doing very well, and we stay constantly in touch with each other, sharing ideas and generally just chatting. Don is a very smart man and tends to stay off the tree care forum boards, though like a lot of us, he has recently in the last few years...
