    Benefits?

Just curious what benefits ya'll are getting as employees. Or what you offer as an owner. PTO? Health care? 401k match? How established is your company?

    Today....

It definitely wasn't ideal, but we had just enough distance where I still felt good about it. The picture makes it look a lot closer than we were. A few feet closer though and I would've said no.

    Today....

Gotcha. Yeah I've worked with a few different cranes around here and haven't heard anybody mention anything about over the line rules, but I also haven't specifically asked our power company about it either. Thanks for the heads up, I'll look into it.

    Today....

Haven't had any issues yet. Does your utility say you can't work over the lines at all? Even if you're not closer than the minimum approach distance?

    Why 1/3 notch depth?

Are you sure you've seen 2/3 on full trees? If I'm chunking down wood, i'll go 2/3 deep all day to help it go over if needed. I'd never go that deep on a full tree though. No room for wedges, and easier to sit back on you if its a tall tree. Where have you seen guys out west do that? Its not normal.

    Dialing in the lanyard....

Yes, ISC snap is made for life support. It's triple locking in its own way. How is going back to a prussic and pulley going to simplify things for you? The positioner is about as simple as it gets.

Chainsaw-shortage (US), anyone able to shed-light? Didn't realize just how bad it was...

Maybe it's just location? I called my local stihl dealer two days ago looking for a 462, their other store a couple cities away had two in stock so they shipped one to my dealer. Picked it up yesterday. Also picked up a echo 2511 from an echo dealer nearby about a month ago. I believe they had 3...

Anyone have experience with Petzl Control 12.5 rope and ZigZag in Ddrt setup?

Just a heads up, while the petzl flow splice will physically fit through the zig zag, you still need to tie throw line or something on it to pull it through. It's almost not worth jt to me, Id rather just thread the zig zag through the free end than try to deal with getting it through the...

Zigzag and rope for natural crotch

Not all ropes handle natural crotches the same though. The petzl flow rope for me at least seems to be not as tough as other ropes. Gets caught and knicked way more than normal. So I'd say it's more for just ascent, or used with a friction saver.

Problems with zigzag and flow 11.6 mm

I'm in southern Oregon, definitely not humid, but it gets hot (100+ during summer). I can't really see the humidity being the reason, since I've climbed on it in the rain as well with no issues.

Problems with zigzag and flow 11.6 mm

I weigh about 170 with all my gear on, and have the same setup for drt, the zig zag and flow rope. Works amazing for me, whether Im over a natural crotch or in a friction saver.. I never washed my rope either. Something definitely isn't right with your zig zag. I'd try to return it.

    shock loading 1" Stable Braid

All I can think of is the rope on rope friction at the half hitch. Also knots (not sure if half hitch would be considered a "knot") significantly reduce strength of rope, so friction and the knot reduction could easily drop the strength of the rope close to the forces generated by basically...

    Zig zag tips

Just what I was looking for! Played around with it all in a big maple in my backyard just now, loving it so far. So much smoother than my VT hitch. Leaving the zigzag on its own line seems easy enough too. I've never had a spliced rope before this too, love how easy it is to reset my friction...

    Zig zag tips

I can pull it through with a throw line size line, just not that efficient or easy. Splice is only on one end so if I can't figure anything better out I can use the other end. Just seeing if anybody else has figured out a faster way to pull it though.
